MSI launches new server platforms with Intel Xeon processors

Today

MSI has introduced its latest server platforms powered by the Intel Xeon 6 processor with Performance Cores (P-cores). These platforms are designed to enhance performance for compute-intensive tasks and cater to the varied needs of data centre workloads.

"The demand for data centre performance has never been greater, driven by compute-intensive AI, HPC applications, and mission-critical database and analytics workloads," stated Danny Hsu, General Manager of Enterprise Platform Solutions. "To meet these demands, IT teams need reliable performance across an increasingly diverse array of workloads." Hsu added that MSI's new server platforms provide high performance across various tasks, ensuring both performance and efficiency.

The Intel Xeon 6 processors, featuring 128 cores, substantial memory bandwidth, and advanced I/O capabilities, are optimised to deliver the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) for high-core performance-sensitive and general-purpose compute workloads. These processors provide the necessary performance to handle the demanding requirements of AI, high-performance computing (HPC), and data analytics workloads.

MSI's new server platforms leverage the OCP Datacenter Modular Hardware System (DC-MHS) architecture. These platforms include DC-SCM hardware management cards for modular server management and streamlined OpenBMC firmware development. The servers, with Intel Xeon 6 processors featuring P-cores, are tailored for modern cloud service providers and data centres, offering management flexibility and cooling efficiency.

MSI offers two specific SKUs based on the D3071 DC-MHS M-DNO Type-2 Host Processor Module with a single Intel Xeon 6 processor. The 2U 2-node CD270-S3071-X2 and the 3U 2-node CD370-S3071-X2 platforms are designed for high-density, core-compute server needs. Both systems are engineered to support compute-intensive workloads, delivering optimal thermal performance while accommodating TDP 500W processors with air cooling.

In addition, MSI provides a range of server platforms featuring Intel Xeon 6 processors. These platforms range from high-performance AI solutions to cloud-scalable, energy-efficient systems, meeting the current and future demands of businesses.

MSI is a global specialist in gaming, content creation, business & productivity, and AIoT solutions. The company is known for its comprehensive range of products, including laptops, graphics cards, monitors, motherboards, desktops, servers, IPCs, robotic appliances, and vehicle infotainment and telematics systems.
