Nintex launches major updates, brings RPA bots to more businesses

FYI, this story is more than a year old

Nintex has launched major updates to its Nintex Workflow Cloud, including robotic process automation (RPA) bots and improved workflow tools.

The process management and automation company has made it easier for customers to make use of RPA tools through its cloud-first process automation solution Nintex Workflow Cloud.

The major update is called Nintex Gateway and gives customers the ability to create workflows that include RPA bots by providing two way drag and drop interaction between workflows and bots.

With Nintex Gateway, customers can utilise bots to achieve end-to-end automation across a broad set of process scenarios.

Process workflows can also delegate tasks to Nintex RPA bots that mimic human keystrokes and mouse clicks to interact with apps, systems, services, and websites through their existing screens and interfaces.

This results in less work being assigned back to the user and helps organisations leverage cloud workflow capabilities while protecting their on-premises investments, the company states.

Other features added to Nintex Workflow Cloud includes the ability to test workflows as they are built, enabling designers to see whether workflows are configured correctly before they are published.

Workflow designers can also activate new task authentication features to require the person assigned to execute a task to first log into Nintex Workflow Cloud, ensuring that only authorised users can take that action.

Furthermore, in this round of updates Nintex has given subscription-based workflow customers access to RPA bots within their current service.

Nintex customers can create and train RPA bots to execute specific automation tasks called botflows as they create workflows with Nintex.

This means that Nintex customers can allocate existing workflows towards deploying botflows, providing further automation power and licensing flexibility.

There is also the option for customers to purchase bots for individual users who do not need to connect to existing workflow processes.

Using Nintex RPA, enterprises can train bots to automate routine tasks without the need for coding with a drag and drop interface. Nintex RPA provides more than 300 predefined actions that help users create automated tasks without programming required.

Nintex RPA Central then helps companies centrally control and orchestrate their workforce of Nintex RPA bots through a web interface using enterprise-grade encryption, Nintex states.

Nintex chief technology officer Alain Gentilhomme says, “We've invested heavily in Nintex Workflow Cloud to make our independent platform both powerful and easy to use.

“Nintex Gateway is a significant achievement by our R-D team and additional reinforcement of our commitment to our global community that we will deliver continuous value and ongoing enhancements to our process management and automation platform.

Nintex vTE at sdg and Office 365 consultant Ben Stori says, “Nintex is the leader in digital process automation and is our preferred platform vendor for helping our clients digitally transform their organisations.

"Now we can do even more in the cloud with workflow automation and robotic process automation on desktops thanks to Nintex.

Nintex Workflow Cloud is built on Microsoft Azure and is used by organisations across various industries, including banking, government, manufacturing, healthcare and life sciences.

The Nintex platform can be used to manage, automate, and optimise enterprise-wide business processes using an intuitive design canvas that requires no code.
