Octave names S-OIL & Coupang as APAC award winners

Octave has named S-OIL and Coupang as the Asia-Pacific winners in its 2026 customer awards programme. PETRONAS and Chiyoda Corporation were also recognised in the global awards.
The Nasdaq-listed software company announced the awards at Octave Live in Singapore. Octave was spun out of Hexagon earlier this year.
S-OIL won the APAC Intelligence Unleashed Ovation for bringing together several of Octave's engineering tools in a single Smart P&ID portal. The project improved engineering data reliability and created a more integrated way to manage critical engineering information across the business.
S-OIL used Facets P&ID, Forte 3D, Facets Instrumentation and SmartPlant Foundation in the initiative. The portal was designed to support operations through a single environment for engineering information.
Coupang received the APAC Innovator Ovation for its use of asset management software. The tools helped reduce equipment downtime, improve materials and inventory management, and support preventative, predictive and prescriptive reliability strategies aimed at extending asset life.
The work reflects a broader effort by Coupang to apply more structured asset management across its operations in Korea and Taiwan. Octave described the outcome as a model for using asset data to support operational improvements at scale.
Regional recognition
The awards programme focuses on Asia-Pacific customers using software and data to transform engineering, operations and project delivery. In this year's regional awards, Octave highlighted work spanning refinery operations, asset management and digital transformation.
Fabio Yada, Senior Vice President, APAC, Octave, commented on the regional recipients. "The innovation, ambition and execution demonstrated by our APAC customers continues to set a global benchmark," said Yada.
"These organisations are not only solving complex operational and engineering challenges today but also shaping how industries across the region will operate in the future. Their achievements reflect the ingenuity, resilience and excellence that make APAC such an important centre of industrial innovation," he added.
Outside the APAC category winners, PETRONAS was named the global winner of the Operate Ovation. The award recognised the company's work in turning operational data into actions that improve performance, reliability and operational effectiveness.
Chiyoda Corporation was recognised as a global finalist in the Build Ovation. That category highlights organisations working to improve construction planning and execution by connecting teams, materials and data across projects.
Industry focus
The awards are intended to recognise customers that use data to improve performance, efficiency, reliability and sustainability. Octave has positioned the programme around digital tools used across the design, build, operate and protect stages of industrial assets and infrastructure.
The latest winners also illustrate the sectors Octave is targeting following its separation from Hexagon. These include energy, industrial operations, large-scale infrastructure and facilities where operators manage complex engineering and maintenance workflows.
Asia-Pacific has become an important market for industrial software suppliers as companies in the region face pressure to improve reliability, manage ageing assets and make better use of operational data. For vendors, customer case studies in areas such as predictive maintenance and engineering information management have become a key way to demonstrate adoption in those sectors.
Octave said the regional winners showed how businesses are applying digital systems to tackle operational complexity and workforce pressures while seeking greater efficiency and reliability. The company has about 7,200 employees in 45 countries.
