Ofload appoints Dean Newman as new COO to drive national growth

Today

Ofload has announced the appointment of Dean Newman as its new Chief Operating Officer, in a move aimed at strengthening the company's executive leadership during a period of expansion.

Dean Newman brings over three decades of experience in supply chain transformation, digital enablement, and operational leadership to Ofload. Previously, he served as Director of Primary Connect and Innovation at Woolworths Group, where he led one of Australia's largest retail supply chain operations.

At Woolworths, Newman oversaw a business unit that served more than 1,100 external customers and generated several hundred million AUD in annual revenue. He was instrumental in the development and implementation of a digital trading platform recognised for technology-driven business innovation, as well as driving commercial and digital transformation initiatives to improve operational efficiency across high-volume logistics activities.

The appointment of Newman to Ofload's executive team is intended to enhance the company's ability to scale nationwide and to support enterprise-level operational leadership in the competitive freight logistics sector.

Geoffroy Henry, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ofload, stated: "Dean's appointment marks a significant milestone in Ofload's journey. He brings unmatched industry insight, deep operational experience, and a proven track record in both digital transformation and execution. Dean's leadership will be instrumental to our continued growth and development."

Dean Newman commented on his new role: "Ofload is reshaping the future of freight; combining technology, sustainability and commercial agility in a way few others have.

"I'm excited to join at such a pivotal time and help drive the next phase of growth, as we scale nationally to deliver smarter, faster, and more sustainable freight outcomes for the businesses and carriers who rely on us."

Newman has also previously served as President and Chair of the Australasian Supply Chain Institute (ASCI) and holds a Master of Business Administration, highlighting a career focused on the intersection of strategic innovation and operational delivery.

Ofload operates a digital freight platform that connects businesses with a nationwide network of carriers, servicing over 10,000 monthly road freight shipments. Its aim includes improving utilisation of existing road freight capacity and supporting sustainability initiatives, such as reducing CO2 emissions by minimising empty freight journeys.

The company partners with major brands, including Asahi, Primo, Kimberly-Clark, Metcash and Noumi, seeking to offer both large and small businesses in Australia efficient logistics solutions. Ofload also emphasises support for small and medium-sized transport operators, integrating them into the AUD $66 billion national road freight industry.
