Oracle is a Leader in the 2023 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Strategic Cloud Platform Services, formerly known as Cloud Infrastructure and Platform Services. The recognition emphasises Oracle's expansion in this fundamental category and accentuates Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) among the four global hyperscale cloud providers in the Leaders Quadrant.

Gartner delineates strategic cloud platform services as standardised, automated, public cloud offerings merging infrastructure services (such as computing, network, and storage), platform services (e.g., managed application and data services) and transformation services (programmes/resources that aid customers in adopting cloud-oriented IT delivery models). Clay Magouyrk, executive vice president of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, expressed that their unique distributed cloud strategy is contrived to meet their customers' diverse needs and buttress the escalating global demand for OCI. "Today, organisations of all sizes and across all industries rely on OCI to give them the flexibility, performance, scale, and availability they need," said Clay Magouyrk.

Oracle furnishes Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS). This allows Oracle to afford customers more choice in how and where they run their applications, encompassing across clouds or in a distributed system. These provisions simplify the capacity of organisations to satisfy data sovereignty and other regulatory requirements. Organisations of all sizes have utilised OCI's differentiated cloud services.

Oracle has also recently introduced several potent distributed cloud offerings to the market, such as Oracle Database@Azure and Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud. The enhanced adoption of Oracle Alloy, a distinguished cloud infrastructure platform, has informed customers like TEAM IM and Nomura Research Institute to innovate rapidly. OCI's distributed cloud model affords customers access to the same 100+ OCI cloud services with consistent pricing and in locations that meet their needs while offering more flexibility than other public clouds.

Another recent innovation from Oracle, Database@Azure, expected to be available in the East US region starting in December 2023, will provide customers direct access to Oracle database services running on OCI deployed in Microsoft Azure data centres. Oracle has embedded AI services across its cloud applications, industry applications, and its database portfolio. Through a collaboration with NVIDIA, OCI can provide customers with what are referred to as 'superclusters', powered by the latest GPUs in the market connected together with an ultra-low-latency RDMA-over-converged ethernet network.

OCI was also named a Leader in the 2023 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Distributed Hybrid Infrastructure.
