OutSystems to boost Victoria Police operational efficiency
OutSystems, an international provider of low-code application development, has been chosen by Victoria Police to revolutionise and enhance their operational processes. The partnership aims to improve productivity and efficiency throughout the law enforcement agency, with a key focus on upgrading digital resources for officers in the field.
The decision to select OutSystems came after Victoria Police identified a need to optimise a number of inefficient business practices within the force. They were on the lookout for a cutting-edge Business Process Management (BPM) platform, with a specific focus on their electronic penalty infringement notice system (EPINS), for which OutSystems became the standout choice after an extensive selection process.
Paul Arthur, Regional Vice President for Australia and New Zealand at OutSystems, remarked on the partnership, saying, "Our selection by Victoria Police is due to our comprehensive feature set which, during a hands-on developer enablement exercise, demonstrated the ease at which our platform can be adopted. New developers on the platform were able to swiftly solve all functionality test cases, showcasing its suitability for the Victoria Police requirements."
OutSystems's platform caters to efficient application development by leveraging visual development, pre-built code modules, and one-click publishing. The platform is user-friendly and enables developers, regardless of their skill level, to build customised applications that automate and orchestrate distinctive cross-functional workflows, thus eliminating errors and repetitive tasks.
The objective of this collaboration is to provide better tools for frontline members of the force operating in the community. To achieve this, both OutSystems and Victoria Police have worked closely to integrate a platform that provides high flexibility and adapts to evolving requirements.
The use of OutSystems will allow Victoria Police to tackle a wide range of process and user experience use cases across web and mobile platforms in a significantly reduced timeframe compared to conventional development methods. OutSystems will oversee the delivery of the first critical application in collaboration with multi-award-winning partner PhoenixDX, ensuring utmost compliance with security measures.
Founder and Managing Director of PhoenixDX Pedro Carrilho emphasised their commitment to the project, stating, "Delivering on the front-line mobility needs for the sworn members is our top priority and an honour. We will deliver to Victoria Police a robust business process automation capability, ready to scale and to provide multiple outcomes for the front line."
This collaboration enables Victoria Police to significantly augment innovation and user experience for thousands of members of the force by leveraging leading platform technology and agile implementation models.
Reflecting on the endeavour, Peter Swart, Regional Director at OutSystems, opined, "This is a particularly rewarding account for us to engage with, as there is a very clear relationship between our technology, the important work being done by Victoria Police out in the community, and the actual community itself. We underwent a highly rigorous evaluation process and the OutSystems platform really stood up to the test and proved its flexibility, ease of use and general productivity."
