Ping Identity unveils Helix for AI-driven identity services

Wed, 30th Oct 2024

Ping Identity has introduced Helix, a strategic initiative aimed at advancing secure, AI-powered identity services, along with new integrations with Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services to enhance device trust and user authentication.

Helix is set to be a pivotal component of the Ping Identity Platform, reflecting the company's dedication to evolving secure and intelligent identity services. Andre Durand, CEO and founder of Ping Identity, stated, "Like orchestration, Helix AI services will sit at the core of the Ping Identity Platform, and its influence will be felt across every aspect of our offerings. It will underpin the secure, intelligent, and context-aware identity services that our customers rely on, ensuring that as AI continues to evolve, so too does our ability to protect and empower our users. With Helix, Ping's clients can harness the productivity benefits offered by AI while skillfully navigating and effectively countering the evolving threats prevalent in today's digital landscape."

Helix is designed to transform identity management in the AI context by providing AI agents with unique identities. This ensures each interaction is authenticated and authorised, thereby establishing a new trust level in AI operations. The initiative focuses on data minimisation, with AI agents processing only the necessary data to achieve specific outcomes. Such measures aim to reduce risk, protect user privacy, and ensure AI-driven actions adhere to legal and ethical standards set by Ping Identity and its customers.

Ping Identity has also announced expanded support for device trust through an integration with Google Chrome. This enhancement utilises risk signals from the browser and user to inform adaptive authentication policies, ensuring robust authentication for employees regardless of their location.

Nnamdi Ofodile, Global Head of Chrome Enterprise Partnerships, commented, "Our work with Ping Identity brings together Chrome Enterprise's trusted enterprise browser with the proven identity and access management platform of Ping Identity to help organisations better navigate today's security challenges."

The company has further introduced support for Amazon One, facilitating reliable user authentication for various interactions, including facility access and customer payments at checkout.

Through these developments, Ping Identity reiterates its commitment to secure digital identity solutions, aiming to support enterprises in delivering seamless user experiences while maintaining stringent security measures.
