Remote launches AI surveys, global payroll & mobility tools

Wed, 17th Sep 2025

Remote has announced the introduction of Remote Surveys, an AI-powered tool designed to streamline the employee feedback process and provide real-time workforce insights for companies.

The new Remote Surveys feature is integrated directly into the Remote platform, allowing companies to conduct organisation-wide engagement surveys in less than a minute. The tool supports HR leaders in gathering insights across the entire employee lifecycle, from onboarding through to exit, and establishes links between feedback and outcomes such as productivity, retention, and engagement.

According to the company, Remote Surveys seeks to address the increasing complexities in global engagement and employee retention, challenges which have been particularly pronounced for Australian businesses amid high job vacancies and significant mobility among younger workers.

Work has become truly global, and companies are navigating new dimensions of people, compliance, and experience," said Job van der Voort, CEO and co-founder of Remote. "High-performing organisations are building their people strategies on AI-enabled workflows. Our role is to give HR teams the leverage to meet these demands with clarity, compliance, and a human touch.

Remote states that one of the key aims of Surveys is to enable HR leaders to identify potential challenges at each stage of an employee's journey and to link feedback directly to organisational objectives such as reduced time-to-productivity, improved retention, and higher engagement. Early identification of risks enables more informed decision-making and supports a seamless employee experience, even for distributed or international teams.

The introduction of Remote Surveys forms part of a broader series of platform updates which include new features intended to simplify the management of global workforces.

Global payroll updates

Remote has also unveiled what it describes as programmable global payroll, aimed at transforming payroll from a routine back-office function to a system capable of scaling with the organisation's growth. For Australian employers, this carries particular significance as it is designed to accommodate compliance needs such as Single Touch Payroll (STP), superannuation reporting, and Fair Work regulations.

The new payroll features include structured reviews, multi-level approval workflows, pre-run variance checks, cost and general ledger reporting, as well as automated statutory payments. The platform natively integrates with systems such as Workday and NetSuite, enabling seamless flow of data for hires, pay adjustments, and expenses through to payroll disbursement. These capabilities, according to Remote, are intended to help reduce payroll errors and compliance risks for organisations expanding into new markets.

Enhanced HRIS automations

Remote is expanding its HR Information System (HRIS) automations and workflows, with new features that automate repetitive processes like onboarding, customisable by the role and country of the employee. Job requisitions are now linked to headcount planning, helping HR professionals streamline hiring and administrative processes.

Later this year, Remote plans to introduce AI-powered workflow generation, which will enable administrators to describe processes in natural language for the platform to automate, aiming to further reduce time spent on routine HR tasks.

Mobility support

The company has also launched Remote Mobility, which is now available to all customers. This service provides support with immigration, relocation, and business travel, offering objective guidance through in-house mobility experts and local legal partners. Remote Mobility aims to help organisations identify risks and blockers associated with global expansion, offering support to enterprises and startups in their international operations.

By bringing together these tools within a single platform, Remote states that it is assisting companies in scaling internationally while maintaining efficient operations and a consistent employee experience.

The updated suite of services including Remote Surveys, programmable global payroll, expanded HRIS automations, and Remote Mobility are now available to all existing Remote customers worldwide.
