Splashtop has integrated its remote access tools into the Rippling platform. The feature is now available to IT teams managing Mac and Windows devices in Rippling.

Administrators can start remote desktop sessions from Rippling's Devices app and device records, allowing them to access and control employee devices without leaving the platform. The integration also connects remote support sessions with information already stored in Rippling, including identity, device health, and policy settings.

The addition is intended to bring remote support into the same workflows IT teams use for device management and employee administration. It allows support staff to move from viewing a device record to taking action on that device within a single system.

Embedded access

The integration supports employee Mac and Windows devices. Standard access includes remote desktop control, while a premium tier adds remote terminal access, allowing administrators to run command-line actions in the background without interrupting the end user.

Rippling has also added controls over how sessions are launched and monitored. These include user approval workflows for remote desktop sessions, options for unattended access to idle or unassigned devices depending on company settings, and audit logs recording session start and end times, administrator identity, session type, and the stated reason for access.

On-screen indicators show when a remote desktop or terminal session is active. Under the premium tier, desktop sessions can also be recorded.

The move reflects a broader push by software companies to bring more IT administration tasks into unified platforms rather than relying on separate specialist tools for each function. Rippling, which combines HR, IT, and finance software, has been expanding its device management capabilities as part of that strategy.

For Splashtop, the partnership points to demand from platform providers for built-in remote support rather than stand-alone products. Administrators can launch secure sessions with a single click from within Rippling.

Mark Lee, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of Splashtop, described the deal as part of a broader trend in software integration.

"Splashtop is increasingly the remote access partner of choice for software platforms building integrated IT experiences," said Mark Lee, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder, Splashtop. "Through our work with Rippling, customers are already seeing improvements in operational workflows, with greater speed, security, and control."

For Rippling, the integration adds another layer to its effort to keep employee, identity, and device data in one place. Each remote access session is automatically tied to the relevant employee and device record, giving administrators visibility into related policies and system context during support work.

Platform strategy

Many IT teams still use separate tools for remote monitoring, management, and support, which can split administrative records from support actions. By embedding remote access inside device management, Rippling aims to reduce that fragmentation.

Administrators can use the feature for troubleshooting, onboarding, and incident response. In terminal sessions, commands can be run in the background without disrupting the employee using the device.

Zaafir Kherani, who leads product management for Rippling Device Management, said the company wanted remote support to sit inside the same system used to manage workers, devices, and identity.

"Our mission is to free smart people to work on hard problems," said Zaafir Kherani, Lead Product Manager of Rippling Device Management. "By integrating Splashtop, we're enabling IT teams to securely access and support devices in real time within the same system they use to manage employees, devices, and identity. This creates a more connected experience that helps our customers move faster and maintain control across their environments."

Rippling says it serves tens of thousands of businesses globally, while Splashtop says its products are used by more than 30 million users. The integration gives both companies a way to expand their presence in workplace IT software, as businesses look to manage employee devices, access rights, and support processes through fewer systems.
