Riverbed launches AIOps solutions for enhanced network monitoring

Wed, 8th May 2024

AI Observability player Riverbed has launched a suite of new AIOps solutions to further empower IT teams with enhanced network monitoring, improved digital experiences, modern operations, and automated issue identification and resolution.

With 63% of IT decision-makers believing failing to meet the younger generation's digital demands will negatively impact performance, the ability to deliver a smooth Digital Experience (DEX) to customers and employees has never been more crucial. Moreover, global funding to AI-related initiatives is projected to constitute over 40% of the overall IT spend of Global 2000 organisations by 2025.

However, IT teams already confronted with the challenge of managing complex, sprawling estates housing multiple blind spots, an overload of information from IT alerts, talent shortages and tighter budgets face an extra burden of integrating more technology without the right foundations. The newly introduced solutions by Riverbed help alleviate these issues by illuminating blind spots and centralising all data from networks, offices, applications, clouds, and employees.

Exploiting AIOps to analyse all data together generates actionable intelligence that enhances modern IT operations, decision-making, and DEX. Furthermore, AIOps streamlines and automates issue detection and rectification, reducing reputation-damaging downtime and freeing IT teams to concentrate on value-adding projects.

The updated Riverbed Platform, at the heart of all these new solutions, simplifies the collection, analysis, automation, and reporting of data across the IT enterprise. It features over 30 pre-built applications and software integrations and integrates seamlessly with existing technology deployments.

Other key solutions include the Riverbed Unified Agent, which optimises the deployment of visibility solutions via a single agent, and the Riverbed Data Store, which acts as a central repository for AI use cases. Additionally, the newly launched Riverbed IQ 2.0, a SaaS-based AIOps service, employs AI-driven automation to prevent, identify, and resolve issues rapidly. It replicates and automates the best practices of IT experts, limiting alerts to only those needing human intervention.

Dave Donatelli, Chief Executive Officer of Riverbed, highlighted the significance of the new AI-powered platform and solutions, saying, "Riverbed has invested in our core competencies of data collection and AI, and today we're launching the most advanced AI-powered observability platform to optimise digital experiences, along with solutions that provide new levels of visibility into network blind spots and enterprise-owned mobile devices."

He added, "Great AI starts with great data, and our platform and visibility solutions provide IT with full-fidelity and real data that is the most comprehensive in the industry, along with an AIOps engine that uses AI automation to remediate issues faster, often without human intervention."

Bob Laliberte, Principal Analyst at theCUBE Research, remarked on the launch: "Riverbed's new AI-powered observability platform optimises digital experiences by leveraging a unified agent, all of Riverbed's existing solutions, new network and mobile solutions, and second-generation AI technology with almost 200 automated responses out of the box."
