Royal Melbourne Hospital partners with ANDHealth for tech surge

Today

The Royal Melbourne Hospital has announced a new partnership with ANDHealth to enhance its access to digital and connected health technologies.

This collaboration will allow the Royal Melbourne Hospital (RMH) to gain early access to innovative digital health solutions through insights provided by ANDHealth, a company specialising in digital health commercialisation.

The partnership is designed to keep RMH's technology aligned with its high standard of patient care while addressing the cost pressures associated with healthcare delivery. It aims to provide RMH with independent expert advice on emerging technologies, allowing it to remain at the forefront of digital health innovation.

ANDHealth will leverage its extensive database, encompassing over 970 digital and connected healthcare companies, to offer the RMH a broad perspective on practical and emerging health technology solutions. This approach will also enable RMH to provide direct clinical feedback to startups, guiding them on product requirements, reimbursement, and procurement processes.

The RMH is the first hospital system to become a core partner of ANDHealth, joining other organisations such as RMIT University, Telstra Health, Planet Innovation, Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI), Curve Tomorrow, HPM Executive, and HLTH-Community.

Professor Shelley Dolan, Chief Executive at RMH, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting the importance of digital health innovation: "As a major trauma hospital, we are constantly looking to innovate and develop resources for our staff and patients. We are delighted to partner with ANDHealth, who reflect the growing importance of the digital agenda in improving equity of access to excellent healthcare."

"ANDHealth's role as our 'Innovation Partner' ensures we will have access to pre-qualified, cutting-edge solutions while allowing us to focus on what we do best—delivering exceptional care," said Professor Shelley Dolan.

Bronwyn Le Grice, Chief Executive Officer of ANDHealth, commended RMH for its forward-thinking approach to healthcare modernisation: "The potential for digital and connected healthcare solutions to drive better patient outcomes and improve productivity and efficiency has been spoken about for some time. By partnering with the Royal Melbourne Hospital, we can accelerate the translation of emerging technologies to the frontline of care delivery and transform potential into reality."

The partnership between the Royal Melbourne Hospital and ANDHealth marks a significant step in integrating digital health solutions to enhance patient care and address healthcare costs. By providing early access to innovative technologies and fostering collaboration with startups, this initiative highlights the growing role of digital health in improving efficiency and outcomes in healthcare.
