Thu, 21st Dec 2023

In the rapidly evolving world of education, where digital transformation has become more vital than ever, Samsung Electronics Australia stands at the forefront, offering a versatile array of display solutions for educational environments. These solutions cater to various needs, from enhancing classroom interactions to facilitating remote learning. This initiative is pivotal in revolutionising learning across all levels of education, aiming to establish Samsung as a credible force in the education technology sector.

The educational landscape today comprises a dynamic network of students, parents, teachers, and school systems, all increasingly dependent on digital technology. Samsung’s technology not only helps to promote positive learning outcomes but also motivates students in a digitally-driven world that extends beyond conventional classroom settings. The creation of connected and communicative learning spaces, both online and face-to-face, and supported by digital tools, is key to fostering learning innovation. This approach prepares students with essential skills for their future careers, especially when there is equitable access to digital technology for all students.

Phil Gaut, Director of Display and Memory Solutions at Samsung Electronics Australia, highlights the evolving role of technology in education: “Monitors in classrooms and teachers using interactive screens have been commonplace for a few years now, so the next step for us in aiding education through technology, is building an intelligent ecosystem that allows for seamless learning experiences across the entire campus. This is our Connected Campus vision.”

Samsung’s range of devices, such as those with touchscreens, actively involves students in the learning process. These devices allow students to annotate texts, solve problems, and interact with various educational apps and resources. They also offer tools for communication, collaboration, and creativity, nurturing critical thinking and innovation. For educators, Samsung’s solutions streamline technology, administrative tasks, and communication, thus easing the overall burden on resources.

The WAC eboard, a flagship product in Samsung's educational offerings, exemplifies this innovation. Operating on Android OS, it offers intuitive usability and is compatible with a wide range of Android devices. It empowers teachers to personalize their teaching tools, share multiple displays, and engage students with features like a 3-in-1 USB-C port, HDMI output, integrated Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity, and a 40 multi-touch drawing feature. The dual-sided pen and front stereo speaker add to its interactive appeal.

Samsung’s tablet series, including the Galaxy Tab S8 and Galaxy A52, is tailored for the demands of digital learning. These devices, characterised by their slim design, powerful performance, and long-lasting batteries, facilitate seamless hybrid learning experiences.

In the broader campus environment, Samsung’s digital signage and LED displays transform school halls, multi-purpose spaces, and walkways. These solutions provide vibrant and sharp UHD 4K Resolution content, along with integrated media players and built-in WiFi and Bluetooth, supporting dynamic content management and real-time communication.

Speaking about the enhancing capabilities of Samsung's product lineup, Gaut added, “It’s more important than ever that schools and universities are equipped with intelligent, reliable technology solutions to enhance the learning experience for all. Our Flip Interactive Display, WAC eboard, Galaxy Tablets, Digital Signage and LED Displays are effective communication tools that offer a range of collaboration features and creative tools for content creation, fostering critical thinking and creativity.”

A noteworthy example of Samsung's impact in the educational sector is illustrated at St Joseph’s College in VIC. In June 2023, the college enhanced its educational approach for 120 teachers and 1,000 students by adopting Samsung’s Flip Interactive Displays in their new state-of-the-art building. This technology has significantly boosted student engagement and digital communication across the school. The Flip Interactive Display has proven to be an invaluable tool, facilitating learning during and after school hours through peer tutoring.

Samsung’s extensive range of educational technology solutions is reshaping the educational landscape. Its' commitment to a Connected Campus not only enhances the current learning experience but also equips students and educators for a future where technology and education are seamlessly intertwined.
