SentinelOne implements AI security tech at Australian insurer EML
Tue, 23rd Apr 2024

SentinelOne has successfully deployed its SentinelOne Singularity threat detection and prevention solution at Employers Mutual Limited (EML), an Australian injury management specialist in the insurance market. This integration furthers the effort of EML in offering secure solutions for its client base which includes businesses and government agencies across Australia.

EML Information and Security Risk Manager Hayden MacKellar emphasised the importance of secure operation, stating, "Security is a huge driver for our business. We manage workers' compensation insurance and claims for employers and government agencies across Australia, and we have to ensure that the systems we run protect the sensitive data we deal with." The integration of SentinelOne Singularity consolidates the security infrastructure, which previously relied on multiple vendors, into a unified platform.

MacKellar highlighted the complex technological environment that EML navigates within. "We have a broad range of systems, including Windows-based machines and servers, virtualised hosts and Linux-based systems," he explained. The diverse technical ecosystem previously demanded solutions from multiple vendors, which presented its unique set of challenges. This encouraged EML to seek a measure to simplify its operations, prioritising an intelligent system that can be intuitively operated and take efficient action against potential security threats.

The organisation sought a product that offered real-time threat detection and prevention with minimal effort and time consumption. "In evaluating solutions, we looked at the response times and what we could do to minimise the time impact we had in the event of alerts," disclosed MacKellar. "And SentinelOne stood out."

SentinelOne Singularity's design provides enterprise-wide visibility, offering insight into data by consolidating information from security solutions across the entire operation into a single data lake. Augmenting this with AI technology, the platform provides a contextual understanding of the broader picture in real-time, enabling security teams to accurately respond to attacks at the speed they are executed.

In addition to SentinelOne Singularity, EML has called upon SentinelOne Vigilance Pro. This move allows the insurer to adopt a more integrated approach to cybersecurity, accelerating the achievement of its objectives. MacKellar termed the broad capabilities and simplicity of SentinelOne as "enormous", praising the technology's compatibility with their operating environment and shedding light on the immense value this integration has added to their cybersecurity infrastructure.

This alliance between SentinelOne and EML marks an important step forward in the latter's continuous strive for optimising customer data protection. The deployment of SentinelOne Singularity and Vigilance Pro across EML's system provides an integrated, efficient, and intelligent defence against security threats, demonstrating their commitment to ensuring the safety of sensitive data within their platform.
