Sisense unveils new analytics platform

FYI, this story is more than a year old

Business analytics software company Sisense has announced its new platform, Sisense Fusion, aimed at bringing actionable intelligence to its customers.

The platform achieves this, Sisense says, by allowing users to build customised analytic experiences inside their customer and employee-facing applications for delivering analytics.

Gartner predicts, by 2025, data stories will be the most widespread way of consuming analytics, and 75% of stories will be automatically generated using augmented analytics techniques.

However, according to a recent Harvard Business Review Analytic Services survey commissioned by Sisense, only 24% of total respondents said they are even moderately successful in using analysed data effectively.

“Sisense empowers businesses, their partners and customers to infuse analytics everywhere, and act on their data at the right time, every time,” says Sisense chief product and marketing officer Ashley Kramer.

“For too long, users have been drowning in the complexity of data and don't know what actions to take.

“We are removing these hurdles and delivering actionable intelligence where people work, in their applications, workflows and business process so they can focus on innovation and disrupt markets.”

Kramer says many companies aren't achieving the strategic benefits that they expect after making expensive data investments. A significant hurdle for useful data-driven insights is that they are not provided in context or in easily consumable and actionable formats, making it difficult for decision-makers to take action.

Shaul Shalev, Safety Analytics - Innovation Manager at Air Canada, a Sisense customer, says, “Presenting relevant dashboards and stats to executive stakeholders is useful and important.

“But even better is providing access to actionable data to front-line employees empowering them to make immediate decisions. This improves safety in real-time for both passengers and flight staff.

Luma Health has rapidly advanced from startup to award-winning industry leader in digital health. With Sisense as their infused analytics platform, their teams can release new, timely offerings in a matter of weeks.

“In times of crisis, people need insight they can act on immediately,” says Luma Health co-founder and CTO Aditya Bansod.

“The teams at Luma Health were able to use data from Sisense to analyse, recognise and address the unpredictable swings in patient behavior that the outbreak of COVID-19 and the release of the vaccines produced, harnessing and delivering timely insights directly to our providers.

“While self-service has been a positive development in data-driven decision making, organisations are now struggling with too many insights and too few well-informed actions,” says Constellation Research vice president and principal analyst Doug Henschen.

“Embedded analytics approaches not only save time, they ensure that curated analytics based on known, reliable data sources and relevant analyses are presented where they are needed, so users can make real-time decisions and take action.”
