Skillable unveils new features for virtual lab simplicity

Thu, 7th Nov 2024

Skillable has announced the release of new features designed to simplify the construction of virtual labs.

The company's latest updates include a Visual Instructions Editor that allows lab developers without coding experience to create and integrate interactive elements within labs using an intuitive interface. This facilitates the generation and modification of lab instructions, which can be tailored to effectively train learners.

Other improvements include updates to Skillable's Template Gallery, enabling administrators to clone pre-built lab environments and adjust configurations according to specific requirements. This is intended to enhance the speed, flexibility, and customisation of lab creation processes.

Skillable has delivered 7.5 million labs to approximately 1.4 million unique users, amounting to nearly 8.3 million hours of engagement over the past year. The company is also implementing smart geolocation to improve global lab performance by utilising the data centre nearest to each learner, thereby reducing latency.

In addition to the product updates, Skillable is now accessible for Cornerstone OnDemand customers subscribing to various Curated Subscriptions. This integration aims to provide hands-on training opportunities to millions of Cornerstone customers, enabling safe practice of skills in test environments that mimic real-world scenarios.

Two notable customers of Skillable, Majesco and Quest Software, were recognised with Brandon Hall Group's HCM Excellence Awards. Majesco utilises Skillable to obtain accurate skill data, upskill employees, and manage partner and customer training, resulting in $300,000 annual savings on sandbox maintenance costs.

Quest Software has used Skillable to reskill and certify more than 1,000 partners in its solutions, achieving a 183% enhancement in partner-led sales, a reduction in certification costs by 85% per trainee, and improved customer satisfaction resulting from fewer technical issues.

Skillable's impact on users and organisations is further acknowledged in the G2 Fall 2024 report, where the company received 41 badges, including four category wins: Virtual IT Labs Leader, Best Results, Best Usability, and Most Implementable.

Training Industry has also recognised Skillable as one of its 2024 Top IT and Technical Training Companies, marking the fifth such acknowledgment. The organisation credits Skillable's broad range of features and innovative impact within the industry.

Chief Executive Officer at Skillable, Chris McCarthy, stated, "Every quarter brings new growth, innovation and successes for Skillable. This pays testament to trust instilled by our world-class customers, the hard work of our team and how quickly we are expanding opportunities and iterating on the product. The latest product release makes it easier for labs to be created and delivered to learners across the world, helping customers rapidly build skills in the business-critical areas many organisations see as crucial today such as AI, data engineering, cybersecurity, and cloud computing."
