Snom unveils innovative C620 DECT conference phone enhancing audio quality
Fri, 8th Dec 2023

Snom, an innovation-driven manufacturer of communication solutions, has announced the launch of its groundbreaking C620 DECT conference phone. Aligned with Snom's remote working product strategy, the new cordless device significantly enhances the flexibility and audio quality of professional phone conferences.

The C620 aims to liberate users from the clutter of cables often associated with traditional conference facilities, transforming almost any location into a potential meeting room. This marks a significant step forward in Snom's mission to enable truly mobile and high-quality professional communication.

Key features of the Snom system include full-duplex functionality, enabling participants to speak and listen simultaneously as if engaged in face-to-face discussions, paired with Snom's renowned HD audio quality, which supports the G.722 wideband codec.

Included in the novel system is a SIP-DECT base station featuring an in-built hands-free phone, an integrated microphone, two wireless microphones, and a docking station for charging the conference unit. The wireless mics boast easy charging via incorporated charging bays. The phone also boasts extensive battery life, with up to 24 hours of talk time (or 12 hours in wideband audio mode) and a standby time of 70 hours.

For larger gatherings that require crystal-clear audio transmission, up to two additional Snom C52 DECT expansion speakers can be linked to the C620,, extending microphone coverage for more than 21 participants. The phone incorporates automatic volume level control, digital mixing, and a ten-level volume adjustment for immersive sound.

Another notable feature includes a signal coverage of up to 50m by the base station, making it suitable for use in large buildings. The ease of managing different users is achieved with the three available SIP accounts. An intuitive user interface, a backlit display, three soft keys, and a navigation pad are all part of the comprehensive C620. Additionally, it offers a local phone book and call list, each holding up to 200 entries.

Felix-Maximilian Glowatzka, the Product Manager for Conference Solutions at Snom, explains that the concept behind the C620 was to create a versatile conference device suitable for both flexibility and professional use. The device is designed with the specific aim of meeting the needs of environments like hotels or large office buildings, where the usage of conference rooms can vary widely.

Felix-Maximilian Glowatzka stated: "The idea behind the C620 was to provide a conference device for flexible yet professional use, which is ideal in environments such as hotels or large office buildings where the use of rooms is varied."

The C620, which combines Snom's known quality with a three-year warranty, has been released and can now be purchased from retailers. Ultimately, this innovative conferencing solution brings professional, hassle-free communication closer to users irrespective of their location, further validating Snom's innovation drive in telecommunication solutions.
