Swoop partners with Flip in AUD $30m nbn infrastructure deal

Yesterday

Swoop has announced a three-year agreement with Flip to provide nbn TC4 wholesale infrastructure, valued at AUD $30 million.

The contract involves transitioning Flip's 26,000 broadband customer accounts to Swoop's network. The migration is expected to be completed by the end of January 2025, with an anticipated AUD $30 million revenue boost upon full transition and potential for further increase, given Flip's expanding customer base.

Alex West, Swoop's Chief Executive Officer, commented, "We are very excited to announce our partnership with Flip. Flip has demonstrated a fantastic ability to grow in the consumer broadband space, along with their complementary services. At Swoop, we are committed to assisting Flip in its growth ambitions by providing network saleability and the right commercial model, and we are confident that this partnership will deliver strong revenue growth in coming years. This is an extremely exciting time for Swoop as we continue to focus on high-speed, high margin, long-life, infrastructure style products that not only allow us to connect people and improve lives but deliver great returns for the business."

David Michaels, Chief Revenue Officer at Swoop, added, "After several years in development, Swoop now has an automated order-to-connection stack that enables our wholesale customers to get on with what they do best, growing their customer base, whilst we take care of managing the critical connection process and network infrastructure. Working with Flip on this partnership has been great. Flip has demonstrated exceptional growth and focus on delivering great customer experience and has chosen Swoop's VISP (Virtual Internet Service Provider) product to further this success and continue growing their customer base."

Swoop's Chief Technology Officer Tom Berryman stated, "It's always exciting to bring more services onto Swoop's nbn platform, and working with the Flip team has been really special as we have provided a fully automated migration quickly and smoothly during the holiday period. Flip has the opportunity to leverage the unique technologies in our network stack and take advantage of the seamless connection processes we have built. The successful delivery at this scale provides significant confidence that we can continue to deliver this service at a larger scale."

Steve Kotzo of Flip expressed optimism about the partnership: "At Flip, our business ethos centres around three key principles: product, service, and price. By partnering with Swoop, we can excel in all three areas, enabling us to focus on achieving our ambitious growth targets. This partnership will not only benefit us and Swoop, but also significantly enhance the experience for all our customers once they have fully transitioned. I am confident that this partnership marks the beginning of a long and mutually beneficial relationship. I extend my gratitude to CEO Alex West and the entire Swoop and Flip teams, who have worked tirelessly over the Christmas period to make this possible."
