Tanium & ServiceNow partner to drive automation in IT security
Tanium and ServiceNow have formed a partnership to advance automation and security in enterprise IT infrastructure through integration of their platforms. The collaboration focuses on enabling autonomous IT management by combining Tanium's real-time endpoint intelligence with the ServiceNow AI Platform, allowing organisations to improve efficiency and resilience within their digital environments.
Platform integration
The integrated offering is designed to deliver automated workflows across enterprise IT systems. These workflows include capabilities such as automatic triaging of IT alerts, self-healing of issues, and zero-touch patching. This ensures that deployment configurations remain compliant and that unauthorised software can be identified and addressed in real time.
Both companies aim to provide their customers with enhanced visibility and control over IT assets. Shared use cases target agentic workflow capabilities that leverage real-time data from endpoints to respond to incidents as they occur and streamline compliance checks. This integration supports audit activities for IT systems, contributing to more effective risk management.
Customer benefits
The integration is intended to simplify day-to-day IT operations for enterprises that manage complex infrastructure spanning on-premises and cloud environments. By utilising Tanium's endpoint management and ServiceNow's artificial intelligence operations, customers are able to accelerate the process of responding to incidents and reduce the risk associated with manual intervention.
ServiceNow has also adopted Tanium's solution for its own IT operations. In particular, the company uses Tanium to enhance real-time visibility across its internal network, feeding data directly into its configuration management database (CMDB) and supporting the automation of essential workflows. This is expected to help ServiceNow maintain security operations and respond to risks more efficiently.
Operational resilience
Tanium's endpoint intelligence provides ServiceNow with up-to-date information on the security and compliance status of IT assets. This supports greater operational resilience by ensuring that the configuration management processes are based on the most current system data, which is critical for organisations operating at scale.
Both companies said the enhanced automation and integration contribute to simplified operations and reduced risk exposure.
"By partnering with ServiceNow and deploying our combined capabilities across both platforms, we are able to deliver truly Autonomous IT - enabling real-time visibility, control and resilience at scale," said Shawn Gallagher, vice president, strategic partnerships, Tanium. "Together, we're empowering the autonomous enterprise by simplifying operations, strengthening security posture and accelerating outcomes."
Industry outlook
As enterprises navigate increasingly complex IT estates, the demand for platforms that can work together to provide efficient and automated solutions has grown. The Tanium and ServiceNow collaboration is positioned to address these requirements by offering tools that support compliance, audit, and incident response needs without increasing the day-to-day operational burden on IT teams.
"ServiceNow delivers trusted, seamless experiences for our customers. Through our AI platform and the integration of Tanium's real-time endpoint intelligence, we're strengthening IT and security operations, accelerating response times and advancing toward autonomous IT," said Sankha Nagchoudhury, senior vice president, digital technology intelligent operations, ServiceNow. "This collaboration enhances our foundation of resilience and elevates the experience for the people who rely on our services every day."
