TeamViewer bolsters IT management solution with Lansweeper integration
Wed, 6th Dec 2023

Global technology provider TeamViewer has announced the incorporation of Lansweeper's technology for asset discovery and inventory into its remote monitoring and management (RMM). The move aims to yield a comprehensive and unified IT management solution to bolster everyday operational support for IT departments.

Lansweeper's robust IT asset discovery and inventory capabilities give IT administrators a complete picture of their IT infrastructure. This includes detailed insights into hardware and software, allowing for well-informed decisions and optimised IT resources, contributing to an efficient management of an organisation's digital assets. This integration primarily improves risk management and compliance processes by identifying unauthorised devices and non-compliant software, serving as a proactive approach to prevent potential policy violations and maintain compliance with IT rules and regulations.

Frank Ziarno, Vice President of product management at TeamViewer, explained the significance of this integration. He noted, "By integrating powerful technology like Lansweeper's IT asset discovery and inventory capabilities into our RMM offering, we can provide a comprehensive single-vendor solution that enables IT administrators to maintain IT landscapes at scale. This is a significant step forward in our commitment to simplifying IT management."

This collaboration allows IT administrators to efficiently track their hardware and software inventory, warranty status and patch deployments through a unified dashboard. This provides them with a clear overview of the IT landscape, allowing for strategic planning and cost-efficient decisions.

CEO of Lansweeper, Dave Goossens, stated, "TeamViewer's more than 600,000 customers will now have access to Lansweeper's unique discovery and inventory technology. We’re excited to be part of this solution; having an automated, always up-to-date inventory is crucial for efficient and cost-effective IT management."

The partnership between TeamViewer and Lansweeper goes a long way in allowing organisations to better understand, manage, and protect their technological assets. It provides valuable insights into their state of IT infrastructure, thus helping optimise technology investments and minimise risks. Furthermore, this aims to work towards TeamViewer's major goal of adapting new technology trends and continuously innovate in the fields of Augmented Reality, Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence.

Since its inception in 2004, Lansweeper has been designing a software platform that scans and inventories all IT devices, installed software, and active users on a network, allowing organisations to manage their IT centrally. With the integration of this robust technology, TeamViewer plans on advancing its mission of providing intuitive and powerful solutions that enable teams to work together without constraints.
