TeamViewer, a well-known global provider of remote connectivity and workplace digitalisation solutions, has announced a significant update to its enterprise connectivity solution, TeamViewer Tensor.

Specifically designed to bolster information technology (IT) departments in maintaining business-critical equipment, TeamViewer Tensor enhances its leading compatibility, security, and performance to provide a comprehensive overview of all devices, thereby enriching monitoring, support, and access management.

The highlighted areas of enhancement include improved security, the introduction of new mobile device management capabilities, and a reworked user interface with session links as an alternative to IDs and passwords. These aspects add considerable value to the support offered by the software solution to its users.

TeamViewer Tensor bestows its users with granular control by providing options such as Bring Your Own Certificate (BYOC) and pre-approved access sessions on top of its existing conditional access capabilities. The BYOC function facilitates users to fully control access within their company-wide network by authorising access only to devices that hold the custom certificate installed.

Combined with the new way of initiating connections, enterprises can generate certificate-backed session links, reinforcing enhanced security around connecting certified devices within their organisations, thus eliminating any potential access violation due to accidental misconfiguration.

Conditional Access sessions are pre-approved, providing control of devised connections to devices or device groups with fixed time slots and time-outs. These features are available for both outgoing and incoming connections. IT departments, especially those interacting with third parties or customers, can now significantly diminish their workload by pre-defining single sessions in-product without compromising established security guidelines.

Showing increased affinity towards the requirements of larger companies, TeamViewer has added mobile device management capacities into its remote monitoring and management solution, which comes with Tensor by default. With this new addition, TeamViewer Tensor now offers a holistic, enlarged view of the entire IT and operational technology (OT) landscape.

This innovative feature addresses all major operating systems, including Android and iPhone operating system (iOS). It allows the centralised rollout of patches, policies, on-and-off-boarding of devices, and even remote backups and wiping of data. The update also sees a complete redesign of the user experience interface as TeamViewer Tensor aims to facilitate large-scale.
