Tessell enhances multi-cloud database platform with AI for Azure

Fri, 21st Nov 2025

Tessell has introduced a series of new features for its database-as-a-service platform, aiming to streamline multi-cloud database management and support greater use of artificial intelligence (AI) on Microsoft Azure. The updates support enterprises looking to modernise their data infrastructure while increasing cross-cloud flexibility and data streaming capabilities for analytics and machine learning.

Platform enhancements

The company's offerings now include enhanced AI-powered management tools for prominent database engines such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. Tessell's system allows organisations to migrate existing databases to Azure without requiring changes to application code, supporting both cloud migration and day-to-day operational management. The platform's unified interface is designed for consistency across different cloud environments, reducing unnecessary duplication of management processes and helping IT teams work more efficiently.

Oracle on Azure

Tessell's new approach to Oracle workload modernisation on Azure, termed "lift & shine", supports enterprises moving mission-critical applications without changing schemas or code. This feature is intended to lower operational risk and accelerate migration timelines for organisations running large-scale Oracle environments but seeking the benefits of cloud infrastructure.

Real-time analytics

The platform now provides real-time data streaming directly into Microsoft Fabric and OneLake. This capability allows analytics and AI platforms to use freshly updated data as it becomes available, reducing time lags and manual intervention. Businesses engaging in complex analytics or seeking rapid AI-driven insights can now access constantly refreshed data, supporting faster operational and strategic decision-making.

Customer migration

Tessell has shared examples of customer success, including cases where more than 700 databases were migrated onto Azure using its platform. Such migrations illustrate the scalability and reliability claims of the system, particularly for enterprises seeking operational efficiency in managing large volumes of heterogeneous databases across cloud providers.

AI automation

The platform applies AI-based automation to a range of management functions. Automated processes cover database performance optimisation, resource scaling, governance tasks, and cost control. By reducing the requirement for manual oversight, these tools help IT managers contain operational costs and allocate resources with greater precision.

Operational advantages

With policy-based controls for data residency and jurisdiction requirements, Tessell is presenting its platform as a solution for regulated sectors such as finance, healthcare, and government that require strict oversight of where critical data is stored and processed. The platform's architecture enables compliance and security for enterprises operating globally and using multiple cloud providers.

Industry perspective

"Tessell continues to expand what is possible for enterprises modernizing on Azure. At Ignite, we're excited to demonstrate how organizations can run mission-critical Oracle and SQL Server workloads in the cloud with the resilience, automation, and AI-driven intelligence that today's applications demand. Our platform makes multi-cloud modernization not just feasible but efficient, reliable, and intelligent," said Bakul Banthia, Co-founder, Tessell.
