Sage, a prominent company in the domain of accounting, financial, HR and payroll technology for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) has announced Tom Gough as the new Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). Gough, with almost a decade at Sage under his belt, will lead the ANZ region's go-to-market team, intended to extend Sage's brand amongst SMBs in the region.

Gough's previous roles with Sage have provided him with broad experience within the Sage business. Prior to his latest appointment, Gough managed Sage's Accounts Payable Automation team, where he introduced Sage's AI-fueled embedded accounts payable solution to SMBs globally. Previously, he spearheaded the international introduction of Sage Intacct, a cloud-based financial control solution tailored for medium-sized businesses.

Gough, with a background as a Chartered Accountant and training from PwC London, has also contributed significantly to Sage's North American business operations as the Finance Director of Sage Canada. He will soon be sharing his insight on AI theology within traditional accounting frameworks at the Sydney Accounting Business Expo.

Gough's appointment comes at a strategic moment as the alignment of the UKI, Asia, Australia, and Africa (UKIA) took place last year. His key role will be to foster brand consciousness and enhance Sage's reputation with SMBs across the region and foster relationships with key customers, prospects, and business partners.

Gough himself is equally thrilled about his new role. He says: “I am delighted to step into the role of Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand. I am excited to join the team, and to play a key role in supporting and promoting the Sage ANZ team globally, and across the region.”

Gough has recently moved to Sydney from London for the role and will join the UKIA Leadership Team in his new position. His focus will be on delivering a unified Sage approach and driving growth across the ANZ business to answer the escalating demand and shifting needs of local customers.
