Topgolf enhances player experience with LogicMonitor platform

Topgolf has reportedly improved its player experience and business efficiency by implementing LogicMonitor's LM Envision platform. The sports entertainment company operates over 100 venues globally and aims to hit 50 billion balls by 2025. This partnership has enabled the consolidation of ten disparate monitoring tools into a single comprehensive platform.

Topgolf required a comprehensive platform to integrate all monitoring data at each golf bay, including infrastructure and IoT devices. The legacy system did not integrate well with other incident management tools and ticketing systems, hindering the team's ability to meet the growing demand for an enhanced customer experience and better IT performance.

SHI, acting as Topgolf's strategic information technology consultant, guided the company through an evaluation for its observability transformation, which led to the choice of LogicMonitor's platform. With LM Envision, Topgolf now has a unified view of its entire IT infrastructure. This consolidation has improved the company's ability to manage and resolve issues proactively, thereby minimising downtime and ensuring uninterrupted gameplay for customers. LogicMonitor's agentless solution allows Topgolf to monitor the system proactively, addressing potential problems before they impact players.

Mike Zvolanek, Director of Global Infrastructure at Topgolf, highlighted the objectives achieved through this partnership. "Our goal was to get our organisation to a state where we are less reactive and more proactive," said Zvolanek. "LogicMonitor helps us avoid issues before they impact our venues and cause revenue losses." He noted that the streamlined monitoring process has significantly reduced the mean-time-to-resolution (MTTR), dropping from 15 minutes to less than two minutes, which minimises disruptions for players.
