Trek enhances BOPIS with Gr4vy for seamless shopping

Fri, 28th Mar 2025

Trek has partnered with Gr4vy to enhance the Buy-Online-Pickup-In-Store (BOPIS) experience for its customers through improved payment processing and real-time inventory visibility.

The global bicycle brand Trek faces growing expectations from customers who desire a seamless transition from online ordering to in-store pick-up. Partnering with Gr4vy, a cloud-native payment orchestration platform, the company seeks to address these requirements. Gr4vy's capabilities allow Trek to better meet the demands of customers, half of whom reportedly choose retailers based on the availability of in-store pick-up options.

The partnership involves using Locally, an Online-to-Offline Shopping API, alongside Gr4vy's technology, which together provide customers with real-time inventory data when shopping on Trek's website. This integration ensures that customers can verify stock availability and complete their purchases in a single transaction, streamlining the BOPIS process.

John Lunn, Founder and CEO of Gr4vy, stated, "Our goal is to give enterprises full control over their payment processes while removing unnecessary complexity. Ultimately, simplifying payments, so merchants can focus on what truly matters—growth." This cooperation aims to provide Trek with improved transaction processes and real-time inventory data, essential for a smooth in-store pickup experience.

Trek's payment infrastructure is optimized through Gr4vy, enabling the company to manage transactions across multiple retailers under a single payment system. By dynamically routing payments to various service providers, the partnership aims to reduce friction and increase authorization rates. Once a purchase is completed online, information is automatically shared with Trek and the relevant local retailer, ensuring a seamless online-to-offline shopping experience.

The range of payment methods offered has also expanded, including digital wallets and Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) options. According to Steve Novoselac, Vice President of IT and Digital at Trek, "Partnering with Gr4vy has transformed how we approach payments, enabling us to seamlessly integrate options like BNPL and local shop inventory in a single checkout experience." Such diversification provides customers with preferred payment choices and can enhance checkout conversion rates while reducing cart abandonments.

Gr4vy's cloud-native infrastructure promises instant scalability without deteriorating performance. By offering a single-tenant deployment option, merchants can set dedicated instances within specific regions, which boosts transaction speeds and complies with data localization laws. Gr4vy's API-centric framework aids Trek in swiftly implementing new payment methods, currencies, and anti-fraud measures.

As Trek continues its global operations, adaptable payment systems are crucial. Gr4vy's infrastructure facilitates localised payments and multi-currency processing, enabling Trek's international expansion while preserving a consistent customer experience globally.

This collaboration allows Trek to harness Gr4vy's features to provide a more reliable shopping experience, easing customers' ability to order online and pick up in-store while ensuring retailers process secure payments efficiently.
