Tyro Health unveils digital platform for home aged care reform
Tyro Health has launched its certified Aged Care Solution to support the transition to the Australian Government's Support at Home program for in-home aged care providers.
Support at Home changes
The Support at Home program represents the most significant overhaul to in-home aged care in Australia in more than ten years. It introduces a new funding and claiming system, requiring providers and their technology partners to adapt their operations and ensure compliance from the outset.
Tyro Health's Aged Care Solution is a digital platform that enables providers to process Support at Home claims and payments through a single, certified channel. The platform has been developed in collaboration with government bodies and key industry partners, allowing software vendors to integrate certified functionality without extensive in-house development.
Compliance and transition
"With the sector now entering the final readiness phase for Support at Home, providers are facing significant system and process changes," said Adrian Perillo, CEO of Tyro Health. "Tyro Health has worked closely with government and industry to ensure our fully certified solution is tested and ready to support the new claiming model as soon as it goes live."
The introduction of the certified Aged Care Solution means that software partners can provide essential claiming and payment features to aged care providers immediately. For those whose existing systems are not yet integrated with the new platform, Tyro Health offers access to these functions via a web portal, helping ensure providers maintain compliance and uninterrupted service delivery.
Integration options
The Tyro Health platform is built on established digital payments infrastructure and includes an API and integration framework. This setup enables developers to integrate the most urgently needed Support at Home capabilities and expand over time as requirements evolve. The certified system supports all claiming and payment processes available through Services Australia, including the processing of individual contributions, within a single integration.
According to the company, this approach allows aged care providers and technology developers to shift focus away from technical compliance demands and towards service provision.
"Our priority has been to ensure aged care providers and software vendors can comply with the new framework without disruption to the delivery of quality care," Mr Perillo added. "Tyro Health's Aged Care Solution removes the complexity from the claiming process, allowing providers to focus on their clients, not their compliance systems."
Industry collaboration
Tyro Health emphasises its ongoing collaboration with government departments and industry stakeholders throughout the development of the certified Aged Care Solution. By enabling immediate access to Support at Home claims systems, the company aims to reduce compliance concerns for the hundreds of businesses affected by Australia's in-home aged care system changes.
The company advises providers and their technology partners to begin integration as early as possible to ensure readiness for the start of the new framework.
