Virgin Australia upgrades V-mail system with ATech assistance

Tue, 1st Oct 2024

ATech has announced the successful completion of a significant upgrade for Virgin Australia. The upgrade involves enhancing the airline's V-mail Newsletter Preference Centre and migrating the web content management system. As the existing platform is being phased out, this upgrade aims to ensure the security of Virgin Australia's V-mail subscribers' data.

The upgrade not only modernises the platform but also aligns it with Virgin Australia's current branding, creating a more cohesive user experience. The updated platform now resides under the virginaustralia.com domain, enhancing brand consistency.

Among the key benefits of the new platform are several enhancements. The domain migration ensures a unified brand presence across all digital touchpoints. All signup widgets have been refreshed to reflect the latest design trends and functionality. The upgrade also streamlines platform administration, allowing administrators to manage subscription queries or deletion requests more securely and efficiently.

A cleanup of outdated preferences was conducted to provide a more relevant and user-friendly experience. Moreover, a new user interface designed by Virgin Australia's internal team offers an intuitive and visually appealing experience for users.

Nikita Chamberlain, Airline Direct Marketing Leader at Virgin Australia, spoke positively about the collaboration with ATech. "ATech is really easy to work with because they are incredibly flexible and open to our requirements, which is so important when undertaking a big migration. ATech's expertise in content management systems plus high-level understanding of availability and security has made them our partner of choice for many years," said Chamberlain.

Sarah-Jane Peterschlingmann, Managing Director of ATech, highlighted the enduring relationship between the two companies. "We're incredibly proud to have supported Virgin Australia with hosting and managing their websites for more than a decade, and this latest upgrade of their V-mail Preference Centre is a testament to our enduring partnership," Peterschlingmann stated.

"By migrating their content management system, we've not only safeguarded the security of millions of subscribers' data but also elevated the user experience to reflect Virgin Australia's modern branding. Our long-standing relationship with Virgin Australia drives us to continuously deliver innovative solutions that meet their evolving needs."

ATech specialises in systems that require scalability, high availability, and robust cybersecurity. In addition to Virgin Australia, ATech has also built and hosted websites and web applications for organisations such as Brisbane City Council, Airservices Australia, and Seqwater.

The successful upgrade of Virgin Australia's V-mail Newsletter Preference Centre by ATech demonstrates a strategic approach to enhancing digital infrastructure while maintaining security and brand consistency. This development marks an important step in ensuring the airline's digital presence is aligned with modern standards, benefiting both the platform's users and administrators.
