Vultr partners with HEAVY.AI to boost GPU-accelerated analytics

Today

Vultr has announced a partnership with GPU-accelerated analytics platform provider HEAVY.AI. By integrating Vultr's global NVIDIA GPU cloud infrastructure, HEAVY.AI aims to enhance its ability to query and visualise large datasets, improving decision-making efficiency for various customers.

"Vultr is one of the first cloud providers to offer the revolutionary NVIDIA GH200 Grace Hopper Superchip," stated Jon Kondo, CEO of HEAVY.AI. He added that this partnership allows them to leverage Vultr's high-performance NVIDIA GPU infrastructure to offer better access to higher speed and efficiency for their customers. Kondo also noted that the integration would ensure their platform delivers rapid insights and cost savings critical for customer success.

The NVIDIA GH200 Grace Hopper Superchip complements Vultr's current offerings, including NVIDIA A100 Tensor Core GPUs and Vultr Bare Metal instances. According to Todd Mostak, Co-Founder and CTO of HEAVY.AI, tapping into the unique GPU compute and CPU-GPU bandwidth of the NVIDIA GH200 allows HEAVY.AI to deliver enhanced performance and scale while reducing costs. "We now can offer our customers even greater performance and scale while significantly reducing costs, empowering businesses to derive insights faster and more efficiently than ever before," he said.

The partnership is set to demonstrate significant performance benchmarks. With the NVIDIA GH200 running on Vultr Cloud, HEAVY.AI claims to deliver up to five times better price performance compared to eight A100 instances, completing standard analytic SQL benchmarks like TPC-H100 in under 4.5 seconds and executing 11 of the 22 queries in less than 100 milliseconds.

HEAVY.AI aims to democratise access to big data analytics through its software suite, making it possible for organisations to query, analyse, and visualise complex datasets, especially those focusing on location and time-series data. Industries such as energy, telecommunications, urban planning, smart cities, environmental monitoring, geospatial intelligence, and disaster response stand to benefit from this collaboration. For example, HEAVY.AI's platform can accelerate big data analytics for renewable energy sectors, provide deeper insights into LTE and 5G networks, and optimise infrastructure through GeoAI solutions.

Kevin Cochrane, Chief Marketing Officer of Vultr, remarked on the importance of industry and use case-specific solutions to accelerate growth and innovation. He noted, "Our partnership with HEAVY.AI is yet another example of Vultr being committed to unlocking the next frontier of GPU-accelerated analytics for some of the most data-intensive workloads across key sectors."

The announcement of this partnership follows Vultr's recent launch of its industry cloud solution, which aims to provide industry-vertical cloud computing solutions tailored to meet specific needs and regulatory requirements. Through its collaborations, Vultr is keen on building an ecosystem of leading technologies, tools, and services that enable customers to build and scale cloud-native and AI-native initiatives.
