Wagga Wagga Council extends TechnologyOne partnership for future
Wagga Wagga City Council is extending its partnership with TechnologyOne by implementing the OneCouncil enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform through the SaaS+ delivery model to streamline council operations and service delivery.
The council has selected OneCouncil, a cloud-based ERP system designed for Australian local governments, as part of its efforts to enhance administrative functions such as budgeting, project management and planning. The move aims to automate processes and free council staff from manual tasks.
Wagga Wagga City Council is now the 120th organisation to adopt TechnologyOne's SaaS+ model. SaaS+ is described as a system providing modern business solutions while removing charges for core implementation services, aiming to reduce the risks of cost and time overruns that can occur in traditional IT deployments.
Scott Gray, Chief Operating Officer at Wagga Wagga City Council, commented on the decision to proceed with TechnologyOne's OneCouncil solution. "Investing in smart digital solutions like OneCouncil ensures we're not just meeting the needs of today, but building a more responsive, efficient council for the future."
Gray also expressed appreciation for the longstanding collaboration between the council and TechnologyOne. "We are thrilled to extend our 26-year-strong partnership with TechnologyOne and look forward to equipping our staff with better tools and resources so they can do what they do best - serving our community."
The OneCouncil solution is aimed at providing council officers with tools that enable them to deliver improved services to residents and to adapt to the demands of a growing population.
Ben Malpass, Executive Vice President for Local Government at TechnologyOne, noted wider adoption of the company's SaaS+ model among local councils. "Adoption of SaaS+ has doubled over the past two quarters, with councils including Waverley, Salisbury, and now Wagga Wagga making the switch. Councils are under pressure to drive productivity and efficiency without compromising service or safety. Our SaaS+ model offers a faster go-live, minimal risk, and a single annual fee—replacing lengthy, costly, and complex implementations."
Malpass also commented on the company's standing and its customer base. "Our recognition in the ASX100 reflects the strength of our team and the trust of customers like Wagga Wagga. We look forward to continuing our partnership and delivering lasting results."
TechnologyOne reports that it supports over 330 councils across Australia and New Zealand and has been working in the sector for 37 years, focusing on digital transformation within the public sector.
