Western Digital has announced the release of the world's highest capacity 2.5-inch portable hard disk drives (HDDs), expanding its WD, WD_BLACK, and SanDisk Professional product lines. These new offerings include the WD My Passport portable HDD, WD_BLACK P10 Game Drive, and SanDisk Professional G-DRIVE ArmorATD, all now available in 6TB capacities. This expansion aims to provide consumers, gamers, and professionals with more robust and tailored storage solutions.

With the introduction of up to 6TB capacities, the WD My Passport hard drive line allows users to store a larger volume of digital memories and back them up effortlessly. The 6TB WD My Passport, priced at USD $299.00, and the WD My Passport for Mac, priced at USD $309.00, will be available in Australia from October 2024. Featuring USB-C technology, a modern metal design, and 256-bit AES hardware encryption, the My Passport Ultra drive promises enhanced security and ease of use in a slim, portable form factor.

Availability details for the 6TB WD_BLACK P10 Game Drive are expected to be confirmed at a later date.

Professionals seeking reliable storage solutions can turn to the SanDisk Professional G-DRIVE ArmorATD. This all-terrain drive features shock, IP54 rain and dust, and crush resistance, ensuring that valuable footage is protected from the rigours of various environments. The 6TB G-DRIVE ArmorATD aims to offer a portable, dependable way to back up photos, video footage, and other files. Similar to the WD_BLACK P10, the release date for the 6TB SanDisk Professional G-DRIVE ArmorATD will be announced later.
