The company has appointed Jose Barroso as its new General Manager for ANZ.
Barroso has been promoted into the role, previously holding the position of Sales Director ANZ at Zai. He brings over a decade of sales and management experience to the role, previously holding positions at Australia Post and Catch Group.
The appointment lands ahead of the revised bank implementation date for PayTo in April 2023. Zai is one of a handful of fintechs in Australia working with NPPA (New Payments Platform Australia) to assist businesses in leveraging the new payments technology.
Barroso will lead Zai's ANZ team in providing a suite of best-in-class payment solutions to the market, including PayTo and a leading card payments solution.
"It is a privilege to be driving Zai's Australian business at such a crucial stage in its growth, as we work on developing our suite of product offerings - including PayTo and card payments," Barroso says.
"To say companies are eager for the rollout of PayTo would be an understatement. We've had substantial inbound interest since we launched our offer to supply PayTo services for free for the first 12 months."
"Additionally, we recently partnered with Worldpay, a global card acquirer with the technology and experience of processing over 40 billion transactions and USD$1.7 trillion in payment volume annually - which greatly enhances our card payments solution and will provide real value and benefits for ANZ customers."
"I look forward to working with new and existing customers, regulators, and also the major banks to provide a best in class product offering and continue our growth in the Australian market."
