Zoom Video Communications, Inc. has announced the appointment of seasoned technology and business leader, Bede Hackney, as Head of Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). In his new role, Hackney will drive growth in the region, leveraging his extensive experience managing high-growth companies and large multinationals.

Hackney, based in Sydney, will report directly to Zoom’s Head of Asia Pacific (APAC), Ricky Kapur. His illustrious 25-year career includes senior leadership positions at technology companies such as Databricks, where as Regional Vice President for ANZ, he notably expanded the company's regional presence.

"Bede brings to Zoom his extensive experience in building successful teams and driving customer success. We are delighted to have Bede on board to lead our go-to-market strategy and spearhead the next chapter of growth in ANZ," says Kapur. He lauded Hackney’s proven ability to solve business challenges with technology, a quality that Kapur believes will be "immensely beneficial in meeting the growing demand for collaboration solutions in the region."

Hackney echoed Kapur's enthusiasm, noting Zoom’s strong market position. “Zoom’s widely recognized brand and its reputation as an essential means of connection for businesses and individuals have positioned the company strongly to lead the market,” says Hackney. “I am excited to join Zoom and look forward to leading a dynamic team to scale the business in ANZ and drive greater value for our customers with Zoom’s platform innovations.”

Hackney's appointment comes at a pivotal time for Zoom, with flexible workplaces and digital customer experiences becoming the norm. His leadership will be instrumental in helping Zoom meet the evolving needs of ANZ businesses.
