Acer unveils new Swift AI laptops, Edge 14 starts at AUD $3,999
Acer has announced updated Swift Edge 14 AI and Swift Go AI laptops powered by Intel Core Ultra 200V Series processors with integrated AI NPUs.
The new devices, launched as part of Acer's Swift Copilot+ PC line-up, aim to provide increased AI workload performance, enhanced display technology, and thin-and-light chassis options. They are eligible for upcoming Copilot+ PC software updates, including Recall (preview), Click to Do (preview), and improved Windows Search, alongside AI-powered Acer applications for productivity, security, and creativity.
The Swift Edge 14 AI features an ultra-thin magnesium-aluminium chassis and weighs in at 0.99 kg. It is fitted with a 14-inch 3K OLED edge-to-edge glass display, supporting 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification for improved detail and colour accuracy.
An additional hardware distinction for this device is its use of Corning Gorilla Matte Pro surface treatment. According to the company, this is the world's first laptop to implement this technology, with laboratory tests showing a 95 percent reduction in screen reflection compared to other anti-glare glass surfaces. This treatment is intended to improve outdoor viewability, contrast ratio, and reduce glare, offering users higher-resolution viewing experiences.
Processing options for the Swift Edge 14 AI include up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 288V, accompanied by Intel Arc integrated graphics for enhanced visual upscaling and generative AI tasks. AI-focused usability features include a fingerprint reader with light indicator and a touchpad-based AI Activity Indicator, which illuminates when the NPU or Copilot functionality is active. Maximum configuration offers up to 32 GB LPDDR5X memory and up to 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 storage. Acer states a battery life of up to 21 hours for video playback.
The device's construction relies on magnesium-aluminium alloy for improved durability relative to standard aluminium chassis. The design incorporates a dual arrow pattern, a soft-touch UV-cured keyboard coating designed for resilience against wear and staining, and includes connectivity such as dual Thunderbolt 4 and USB Type-A ports. It also complies with MIL-STD 810H for durability in a variety of usage scenarios.
The Swift Go 16 AI and Swift Go 14 AI models are also updated with the Intel Core Ultra series, featuring up to Core Ultra 7 processors and Intel Arc graphics. Both laptops offer up to 32 GB LPDDR5X memory, and up to 2 TB PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD on the Swift Go 16 AI. Battery life is rated for up to 16 hours of web browsing.
The Swift Go models include an Acer Multi-Control Touchpad, which allows users to manage media and conferencing functions, such as play, pause, volume, and screen sharing, directly from the touchpad. Another feature, Acer MyKey, enables launching multiple applications with a single command.
The display specifications on the Swift Go 16 AI offer a 16-inch 2K OLED screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 2,048 x 1,280 resolution, and up to 120 Hz refresh rate, while the Swift Go 14 AI features a 14-inch WUXGA OLED panel with 1,920 x 1,200 resolution. Both models are VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 500-certified, with Eyesafe 2.0 certification for eye comfort.
Designed to be portable, both laptops measure under 16 mm in thickness and use aluminium chassis. They provide a selection of connectivity options, including HDMI 2.1, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 or higher, and USB Type-C ports. All models come equipped with DTS:X Ultra audio, 1080p FHD IR webcams supporting Windows Hello for biometric facial login, and Acer User Sensing to control login security by detecting user presence.
Acer PurifiedVoice 2.0 enhances audio by minimising background noise through a triple microphone system. AI applications such as Acer Assist are available offline to allow document searching while maintaining privacy.
"The new Swift Copilot+ PCs boast NPUs that perform over 40 TOPS and are equipped to run the most demanding AI workloads and offer exclusive AI experiences such as Recall (preview), Click to Do (preview), and improved Windows search, Cocreator, Live Captions, and Windows Studio Effects," a spokesperson stated. "In addition, they also feature a dedicated Copilot key to launch Copilot in Windows 11 with a single touch."
The company also points to its continued commitment to sustainability, noting that the laptops use post-consumer recycled plastics, ship in 100% recycled packaging, and are EPEAT Gold-registered.
