Alteryx strengthens leadership with key executive hires

Yesterday

Analytics platform provider Alteryx has announced the appointments of Jon Pexton as Chief Financial Officer and Steven Birdsall as Chief Revenue Officer as the company seeks to bolster its executive team.

The appointments follow the recent leadership decision in December when Andy MacMillan was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Alteryx. MacMillan's efforts to enhance the executive leadership are aimed at supporting the company's mission to enable organisations to achieve improved business outcomes through data.

Jon Pexton steps into the role of Chief Financial Officer, taking charge of Alteryx's global financial strategy and operations. He brings over 20 years of experience in technology finance to this role. Prior to joining Alteryx, Pexton held the position of Chief Financial Officer at Tebra, a company specialising in healthcare practice automation software. His background includes significant expertise in equity and debt offerings, mergers and acquisitions, international expansion, and strategic planning in various high-growth technology companies. Pexton's prior role was as CFO of UserTesting, an on-demand SaaS platform for user research and feedback.

In his new capacity as Chief Revenue Officer, Steven Birdsall will lead Alteryx's global revenue initiatives, concentrating on sales, customer success, retention, acquisition, partnerships, and market expansion. Birdsall enters this position with more than 25 years of experience in scaling revenue operations in both public and private sectors. Previously, he served as Chief Revenue Officer at Qlik, where he played a key role in driving revenue growth through data-driven strategies. Birdsall's career also spans significant leadership roles, including Senior Vice President of HCM Cloud Application Sales at Oracle and Chief Revenue Officer at Anaplan, where he led the sales organisation during its initial public offering. He has also held positions as Chief Revenue Officer at Radial and Chief Operating Officer at SAP.

Andy MacMillan, CEO of Alteryx, expressed enthusiasm about the new appointments, stating: "I am thrilled to welcome Jon and Steven to the Alteryx team. Their expertise and leadership will help our customers scale efficiently and unlock new opportunities for long-term success. Most importantly, they are both passionate about driving growth, building high-performing teams and championing innovation. Together, we'll create even greater value globally to our customers, partners and community worldwide."
