Australian AI data room company Ansarada has launched a major update to its transaction platform, introducing a new AI-powered operating system designed to streamline mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, due diligence and infrastructure procurement, while keeping sensitive corporate data inside a secure environment.

Ansarada OS Bondi transforms the company's long-standing virtual data room into a cloud-based operating system for managing the entire transaction lifecycle, with artificial intelligence embedded throughout the platform.

The update reflects a shift from AI acting as a search tool to becoming an intelligent assistant that can analyse transaction data, answer complex questions and automate time-consuming tasks without compromising security, said Managing Director at Ansarada, Justin Smith.

"We're becoming a cloud-based operating system for total transaction management across the complete deal lifecycle," Smith said.

An Australian success story, Ansarada has grown into one of the world's largest providers of virtual data room technology.

Its platform has facilitated more than 60,000 transactions across 170 countries.

It's replied upon by 85 of the ASX 100, the Big Four accounting firms, leading law firms, investment banks and government agencies.

AI embedded into the deal room

At the centre of the OS Bondi release is AiDA, Ansarada's AI engine, which enables users to ask natural language questions about documents stored inside a transaction and receive answers within seconds.

Unlike public large language models, AiDA operates entirely within Ansarada's secure infrastructure and does not train on customer data.

"The data doesn't leave the deal environment," Smith said.

"It lives inside the Ansarada secure infrastructure."

The internal AI model is read-only, meaning it cannot learn from customer information or expose confidential documents outside the platform, and will only access information a user has been given permission to view.

That distinction is becoming more important, as organisations weigh the productivity benefits of AI against growing cybersecurity risks and stricter governance requirements for sensitive corporate information.

"The best AI for deal-making understands the room and respects the room," Smith explained.

Designed with customer outcomes in mind

Ansarada's new operating system has been built around four key customer outcomes: intelligence, clarity, efficiency and control.

The intelligence layer enables users to interrogate transaction documents using natural language, replacing traditional keyword searches with conversational AI.

The platform also introduces a redesigned navigation system intended to simplify management of documents, virtual data rooms, subscriptions and administrative tasks from a single interface.

On the efficiency front, AI now assists with document sorting, redaction, workflow automation and due diligence processes. It can also provide insights into buyer or investor activity to help advisers identify the most engaged parties during a transaction.

Administrators retain detailed control over document permissions, user access and security settings, with the AI adhering to the same access controls already enforced within the virtual data room.

The combination of these capabilities delivers faster transactions while maintaining the governance standards expected by corporate deal teams.

Speeding up due diligence

One of the most significant additions targets one of the most labour-intensive parts of mergers and acquisitions: due diligence.

During large transactions, sellers can receive hundreds of overlapping questions from multiple bidders and advisory firms.

The new release automatically identifies duplicate or substantially similar questions, allowing deal teams to reuse previous responses instead of answering each request individually.

Smith said the new feature could significantly reduce the administrative burden on management teams attempting to run a business, while simultaneously supporting a transaction.

"It helps teams answer those questions and find the documents that contain the material information buyers are looking for," he said.

AiDA can also summarise lengthy documents, identify key dates, monetary values and parties referenced in agreements, helping advisers locate critical information more quickly.

Looking beyond reactive AI

While the current platform focuses on helping users interrogate transaction data, Ansarada's roadmap extends well beyond question-and-answer functionality.

The company expects AI to evolve from reacting to user prompts to identifying issues and opportunities within transactions.

"We're going to move from reactive to proactive," Smith said.

Instead of waiting for advisers to ask questions, future versions of the platform could automatically identify missing customer contracts, gaps in documentation or information likely to influence business valuations.

"It will start to help educate the dealmaker on improvements rather than rely on the dealmaker asking the questions," Smith said.

Smith added that while AI capabilities will continue to evolve rapidly, Ansarada intends to introduce new functionality without compromising the security model that has underpinned its platform for more than two decades.

"We'll continue evolving," he said. "We'll maximise those opportunities by bringing AI into the secure environment in a way that helps improve the process while maintaining the security protocols we've always maintained."
