Audacity Australia partners with Soundtrack for business music

Tue, 27th Aug 2024

Audacity Australia has announced a strategic partnership with Soundtrack Your Brand to enhance offerings for audio-visual integrators and their clients in Australia.

This partnership aims to combine Audacity's extensive network and expertise in the audio-visual industry with Soundtrack's music streaming platform, which is designed specifically for commercial environments.

The collaboration will focus on delivering comprehensive music and audio-visual solutions to various commercial sectors, including hospitality, retail, fitness, corporate, and healthcare, among others. This new alliance aims to revolutionise how businesses create immersive and engaging environments for their customers.

"By incorporating Soundtrack's market-leading service and music catalog into our offering, we are providing our clients with a complete audio solution that enhances customer experiences and drives business results. We are excited about adding another great service to our existing offering which renumerates our integrators," said Andrew McGregor, Partner Manager at Audacity Australia.

The partnership will enable Audacity Australia to work with AV integration partners to deliver comprehensive solutions. These solutions are made possible through Soundtrack's extensive integrations with hardware applications and players such as Sonos, WiiM, Audac, Axis, and Q-Sys. The combined solution provides integrators and businesses with a licensed music service for commercial use, featuring tools such as scheduling and an explicit filter.

Soundtrack Your Brand, formerly known as Spotify for Business, offers a catalog of over 100 million tracks designed to empower businesses to curate their sonic identity. Features of the platform include an AI playlist generator, over 1,000 ready-made playlists, an explicit lyrics filter, and easy scheduling options. The platform caters to various business settings and aims to enhance customer experiences and foster a unique brand atmosphere.

Playing music in a business setting involves different requirements compared to personal use. Businesses need to secure specific licenses to play music legally in public environments. In Australia, this includes recording rights, publishing rights, and public performance rights. Soundtrack Your Brand covers the first two licenses, while the public performance license in Australia is obtained through OneMusic, a collaboration between APRA AMCOS and PPCA.

The service is designed to meet the needs of a wide range of businesses worldwide, from salons and spas to supermarkets, retail stores, cafes, and coffee shops. Soundtrack's approach aims to enhance business environments, benefiting guests, clients, customers, and staff.

Additional features of Soundtrack Your Brand include the ability to pick from over 1,000 playlists tailored for different business types, seasons, and situations. Users can search for specific artists, create playlists, and even drag in Spotify playlists to make them legal for business use. An AI Playlist Generator also allows businesses to generate custom playlists based on a short description of the scenario.

The platform also offers tools to maintain a family-friendly environment by activating an explicit lyrics filter and blocking specific songs permanently. Central control features make it easy for businesses with multiple locations to manage and monitor what is playing across all their venues. Scheduling tools enable businesses to plan their music in advance, ensuring that the right tracks play at the right times.

Audacity Australia is conducting partner onboarding sessions for AV integrators interested in becoming reseller partners for Soundtrack Your Brand. This initiative aims to streamline the process of integrating Soundtrack's music streaming services with existing audio-visual installations.
