Avetta unveils Avetta University for safer supply chains

Fri, 16th Jan 2026

Avetta has launched Avetta University, a training library integrated into its Avetta One platform for suppliers and contractors who need health and safety e-learning.

The company said Avetta University provides hiring clients a way to assign training before suppliers and contractors begin work. It also gives suppliers and contractors the option to enrol in courses and share certificates of completion across different client relationships that use Avetta.

Avetta positions the launch against broader training participation figures in Australia. It cited the Productivity Commission and Australian Bureau of Statistics data that show only a third of workers participated in work-related training in the past 12 months.

Avetta said the new training resource sits inside Avetta One, which the company describes as its AI-powered platform. It said integration means users can access courses and manage certificates of completion in the same system as other supplier and contractor management functions.

Avetta mentioned that hiring clients can select courses from the library and direct suppliers and contractors to complete them. It said suppliers and contractors can also take courses on their own initiative.

"We're committed to helping every company make health and safety a top priority, particularly suppliers and contractors who need flexible, accessible training that fits how they work," said Abid Yousuf, Chief Customer Officer, Avetta.

"With Avetta University, we're making it seamless to improve health and safety performance across entire supply chains with training that's as easy to deploy and participate in as it is essential," Yousuf added.

Course library

Avetta said the Avetta University catalogue includes courses sourced from external training providers, as well as shorter modules created by Avetta staff. The company said its instructional design team and subject matter experts developed micro-learning modules as part of its Risk Advisory practice.

The company noted the topics include improving health and safety processes and strengthening systems and compliance. It also referenced reducing serious injury and fatality rates and supporting safety leadership and culture as areas of focus.

Avetta also listed frontline safety subjects in the initial library. These include chemical, electrical and mechanical safety, environmental awareness, emergency action planning, first aid, and working at heights.

Avetta said it plans to expand the course library over time. It stated it will use customer needs, industry trends, updated safety data and user feedback to inform additions.

Supplier compliance

Avetta framed the offer as a response to the administrative and financial challenges that smaller contractors face when clients increase health and safety requirements across supply chains.

"Avetta University is designed to remove friction, cost and access barriers from supplier compliance," said Sharon Macquarie, Head of Global Training, Avetta.

"Many suppliers-particularly smaller contractors-are expected to meet increasing health and safety requirements without the budget, time or systems to manage training effectively," Macquarie added.

"By providing affordable, accessible, role-relevant training within the Avetta platform, we enable suppliers to build capability, use it across multiple clients and get to work faster, without training becoming a commercial blocker to safety," said Macquarie.

Avetta did not disclose pricing for Avetta University or whether access forms part of existing Avetta subscriptions. It also did not set out which training providers supply courses for the library.

Role pathways

Alongside Avetta University, Avetta said it offers Job Ready Pathways. The company described these as practical guidance that identifies training requirements for specific high-risk roles and activities.

Avetta said Job Ready Pathways align job tasks with recommended training. The company said that the approach supports more consistent onboarding and improved safety performance.

Avetta noted Job Ready Pathways sit on its member benefits page, separate from the core platform experience described for Avetta University. The company did not indicate if the pathways vary by geography or industry, or how frequently it updates the recommendations.

Training ecosystem

Avetta also pointed to other e-learning products it offers. It said it has tailored multimedia and immersive training options aimed at compliance, operational safety and workforce efficiency.

The company mentioned Avetta University, Job Ready Pathways, and its learning management system form a connected set of tools that combine digital learning, role-based guidance and worker competency management.

Avetta operates a software-as-a-service platform focused on supply chain risk management. It works across industries, including construction, energy, facilities, high tech, manufacturing, mining and telecom, and provides contractor prequalification and worker competency management services.

Avetta said it will continue to expand the Avetta University catalogue based on customer needs, industry trends, updated safety data and user feedback.
