Binance Australia backs AusCryptoCon 2026 in Sydney
Thu, 8th Oct 2026 (Today)
Binance Australia has secured title and theatre sponsorship for AusCryptoCon 2026, marking its fifth consecutive year of involvement with the event.
AusCryptoCon 2026 will be held at the International Convention Centre in Sydney, with organisers expecting more than 10,000 attendees over two days. Focused on cryptocurrency and blockchain, the convention is positioned as the largest event of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere.
The sponsorship deepens Binance Australia's role in a gathering that has become a fixture for the local digital asset sector. Its involvement has grown from early-stage sponsor in the event's first year to title and keynote theatre sponsor in its fifth.
Jenny Wei, General Manager, Binance Australia, said the company viewed the event as part of a broader commitment to the domestic market.
"Binance Australia has been part of AusCryptoCon since the very beginning. Five years on, and we're not just attending, we're investing in it," Wei said.
She linked the convention's growth to the development of the Australian crypto sector.
"This event has grown alongside the Australian crypto industry, and we're proud to continue backing the conversations, the builders and the community who are shaping what comes next," Wei said.
Panel return
Binance Australia also confirmed the return of the Bitcoin vs Property debate session. The panel will bring together speakers from crypto and property investment to discuss returns, accessibility, risk and changing approaches to wealth creation among Australian investors.
The session is returning after a strong audience response at NZCryptoCon. Details of the panellists and moderators have not yet been released.
Wei said the debate had remained a talking point since the earlier event.
"The Bitcoin vs Property panel is the session people are still talking about months later," Wei said.
She said the session aimed to inform rather than argue for one asset class over another.
"It's not a debate about whether crypto is better than property; it's about giving Australians the information to make their own decisions. That's what Binance is here to do."
Opening party
Alongside the conference sponsorship, Binance Australia and AusCryptoCon plan to co-host an official opening party in Sydney on the Friday night before the convention begins. Attendance will be limited to ticket holders, with venue details and RSVP arrangements to be announced later.
The event is intended to bring together delegates, speakers and participants from across the crypto community before the main conference opens. Organisers said it would include networking, drinks and entertainment.
Sector signal
Binance Australia's continued backing comes as Australia's digital asset sector seeks broader engagement with investors, operators and regulators. Large industry conventions have increasingly become a venue for those groups to meet in one place alongside founders, service providers and retail participants.
David Haslop, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Australian Crypto Convention, said Binance's support has helped drive the event's development over the past five years.
"Our partnership with Binance over the past five years has been instrumental in the growth of AusCryptoCon. They've consistently backed not only our event, but the broader Australian digital asset ecosystem. Having one of the world's leading exchanges continue to invest in the industry here at home sends a strong message about the future of Australia's crypto sector," Haslop said.
AusCryptoCon, also referred to as CryptoCon Sydney in its city-edition branding, is aimed at a broad cross-section of the Web3 and digital assets market. Organisers say the audience includes founders, investors, traders, builders, operators, brands, service providers and newcomers seeking a better understanding of the sector.
The program is expected to include keynote sessions, panels, workshops and side events, alongside sponsor activations and networking functions. Organisers have also framed it as a meeting point for institutions, venture capital firms and projects looking to raise their profile in the market.
Wei said the convention now holds a central place in the local industry calendar.
"AusCryptoCon has become the fixture on the Australian crypto calendar. The place where the industry, the regulators, the builders, and the community all come together," Wei said.
"Five years in, we're not just sponsoring a conference. We're investing in the industry's future in Australia."
