FYI, this story is more than a year old

With two APAC winners based in Australia, BlackBerry Limited has recognised its Asia Pacific channel partners for their innovation and leadership in helping customers protect and stop escalating cyber threats.

Melbourne-based Intellect IT won "MSSP of the Year", and emt Distribution (a Crayon company) based in Adelaide was awarded "Distributor of the Year" following its partnership announcement with BlackBerry in June 2022. In addition, for the second year in a row, BlackBerry APAC "Partner of the Year" was awarded to Quess Corp Limited in India. Malaysia's Anon Security also took out the "Best New Logo" for 2023.

Announced during BlackBerry's virtual partner sales event on May 9, the awards are a recognition of how BlackBerry and its partners work as a team to deliver smarter security solutions that protect organisations embracing digital transformation.

Award winners were selected from BlackBerry's global partner network based on their commitment to innovation and differentiation of BlackBerry cybersecurity products and brands in the market. In addition, the award winners align with BlackBerry's commitment to driving exponential new business growth.

"Since announcing our distribution partnership twelve months ago, our teams have worked closely together to deliver BlackBerry's cutting-edge suite of AI-driven solutions to customers seeking better protection from increasing cyber threats. We are proud to be named as BlackBerry's Distribution Partner of the Year in APAC in recognition of our shared dedication to prevention-first cybersecurity, as our partnership goes from strength to strength," says Richard Rundle, CEO - emt Distribution, VP Security Services APAC.

"emt Distribution is a value-added distributor and vendor representative with a presence in Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Philippines, UAE and South Africa. Acquired by Crayon in 2021, emt offers cybersecurity solutions that address the top four mitigation strategies to prevent cybersecurity incidents, the broader strategies in the Australian Government's Information Security Manual (ISM) and solutions to address Cyber Threat Management. emt Distribution assists channel partners, MSPs and MSSPs to deliver cybersecurity solutions their customers need. emt offers pre- and post-sales support, channel development, engaged sales processes and marketing assistance for both vendors and channel partners."

"The 2023 Partner Awards highlight BlackBerry's increased support for MSPs and MSSPs to help make enterprise-grade cybersecurity solutions and support more accessible to the mid-market. We are beyond pleased to be named BlackBerry's MSSP Partner of the Year as we continue to focus on helping customers, many with scarce resources, benefit from AI cybersecurity solutions and services that can help to alleviate the burden of the IT skills shortage in Australia," says Max Soukhomlinov, Director at Intellect IT. "Based in Melbourne, we are leaders for managed IT services – offering expertise in data and network management, IT infrastructure management, backup and disaster recovery, communication systems and security management."

"As Australia and the Asia Pacific region face rising cyber threats, it's an honour to reward the outstanding achievements of our BlackBerry partners who are helping to protect customers and enable business continuity," adds Tash Stamatelos, Vice President of BlackBerry Cybersecurity APAC.

"Both emt Distribution and Intellect IT, along with our other winners, are well-deserving of their awards, showcasing how companies with a shared commitment in stopping cyberattacks can grow their business with BlackBerry. We are built to win as one solid team and looking forward to building upon our shared success."
