BlueAnt unveils Pump X headphones with ANC & sweatproof

Yesterday

Australian audio company BlueAnt has launched its new over-ear headphones, the Pump X, which aim to cater to both fitness enthusiasts and everyday users.

The Pump X headphones feature an Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) capability of 35 decibels and offer a playtime of 34 hours with ANC on and 58 hours with ANC off.

They are designed specifically with fitness in mind, incorporating sweat resistance and a secure, comfortable fit. Users can choose from three colour combinations: black and gold, white and gold, or black and silver.

Incorporating four microphones to ensure clear call quality, the headphones also include "X-Mode," a feature designed to enhance the audio experience by providing extra intensity. Cameron Wells, Director at Watterson, noted that embracing both form and function was a key aspect of the design strategy for BlueAnt.

Taisen Maddern, the Chief Executive Officer of BlueAnt, explained the underlying philosophy of the Pump X's creation: "We know that over-ear headphones need to cater to an active lifestyle which means it needs to be rugged and resistant to elements – but those shouldn't come at the cost of the audio experience, which it often does," said Maddern.

"That's not the case with the Pump X, which was designed with flare and built with precision. It's a perfect blend of form and function, designed to be easy to use, ready to withstand the rigors of a gym session and to pump bass and beats all day."

The Pump X provides simple one-touch controls for ease of use, and with its IP54 rating, it is splashproof and sweatproof, suitable for intense workout sessions. For users requiring greater focus, the transparency mode allows them to stay aware of their surroundings when necessary. The headphones also support rapid charging, offering four hours of use with just ten minutes of charge when ANC is on.

BlueAnt has equipped the Pump X with multiple connectivity options, including Bluetooth 5.4 and USB-C Audio input. The headphones fold conveniently and come with a carry pouch featuring a hook for easy portability. The design is aimed at everyday convenience as well as accommodating fitness needs.

"We want people to simply put these on, out of the box, and they work – our customers want to get going straight away with exceptional audio and supreme comfort," Maddern stated.

"We've made the controls simple so that when people are on a call or in the middle of a set, they can get done what they need. It just works to perfection, with audio that is unsurpassed."

The Pump X headphones are scheduled to retail for AUD $299 and will be available through JB HiFi, Harvey Norman, and directly from BlueAnt's website.

The product's sound quality is supported by 40mm dynamic drivers, and additional features include everyday memory foam ear pads and cooling gel ear pads, both of which are included in the package.
