Bridgit appoints Michael Balshaw as Regional Sales Director to Continue Impressive Growth
Bridgit, an Australian tech-driven, non-bank lender, has announced the appointment of Michael Balshaw as its new Regional Sales Director. This signals the business's continual ascent after recording an astounding 343% year-on-year growth in application volumes.
Balshaw, based in Melbourne, will be responsible for supervising the continued enlargement of Bridgit in Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and Western Australia. A key component of his role will be to expand the current Bridgit accredited broker network, which already boasts more than 3,000 connections in these states.
Demmonstrating a reputable track record, Balshaw previously held the role of Business Development Manager (BDM) at Pepper Money ANZ. He was one of its most high-performing commercial managers, achieving the largest commercial transaction within a national team and also being the fastest BDM to reach 100 settled deals.
Proving an expert in alternative funding solutions, Balshaw has mentored and supported over 1,000 commercial brokers throughout his career. Prior to his tenure at Pepper Money ANZ, Balshaw held senior positions at ALI Group (Australia) and National Australian Bank (NAB).
Stephen Doyle, Head of Distribution at Bridgit, spoke highly of the company's growth and Balshaw's appointment, "Since Bridgit was founded in 2021, we've seen continuous and rapid growth, processing over $2 billion AUD in bridging loan applications. The number of Bridgit accredited brokers across the VIC, SA, TAS and WA regions has grown significantly in just two short years. It's imperative we have a dedicated person such as Michael to lead our efforts in these key states. His unmatched expertise, knowledge of non-bank lending and strong broker relationship skills will undoubtedly help solidify Bridgit as a dependable solution for all brokers."
Newly appointed Regional Sales Director, Michael Balshaw, acknowledged his excitement towards joining the team, "I'm thrilled to be joining such a passionate and tech driven team. With housing in high demand, many homeowners are struggling to secure their dream home due to time constraints or liquidity issues. Bridgit's mission is to help everyday Australian homeowners progress through their property journey and, as Regional Sales Director, my goal is to continue this mission, helping Australian brokers and their clients access a trusted and reliable bridging solution."
This appointment marks another significant milestone for the Australian-founded business, which recently clinched the 'Best Innovation in Lending' and 'Best FinTech Growth Story' at the 8th Annual FinTech Awards. Additionally, Bridgit earned first place in The Advisers Product of Choice Survey for 'Best Short-Term Lender'.
