Carta has made its suite of Claude plugins broadly available to customers, with more than 1,500 companies and investment firms already using the tools.

The rollout expands access to software that connects Claude with authorised Carta data for tasks including fund account reconciliation, investor reporting, cap table analysis, and checks ahead of fundraising or board meetings.

The plugins are listed in Anthropic's official plugin directory and are available to firms with active Carta accounts. Access is governed by the same user permissions and audit trail already in place on Carta's platform, while figures generated by AI are marked separately from numbers held in Carta's own records.

The launch comes as private capital firms test whether AI can move beyond narrow pilots into routine finance and reporting work. Carta is positioning the product around everyday processes that have often required manual movement of data between accounting systems, spreadsheets, and presentation software.

Henry Ward, Chief Executive Officer of Carta, said the company was trying to remove those handoffs.

"For the last decade, private capital operation teams have been held back by a hidden tax: the constant, manual handoff of data between disconnected systems," Ward said.

"Carta is eliminating that broken loop entirely by embedding intelligence directly into the tools teams already use. We are not waiting for an AI-native future for private capital - it is running on Carta today," he added.

Use cases

Carta has grouped the software into separate tools for investors, customer relationship management, and cap tables. In practice, fund finance teams can pull live cash figures from Carta's general ledger into Excel, compare budgets with actuals, assemble annual meeting materials using portfolio and fund data, and run waterfall simulations inside spreadsheets.

For investor relations and deal teams, the software can query investor profiles and engagement histories to assemble outreach lists for fundraising, chart deal origination trends by geography or sector, and draft update emails using commitment and interaction records.

On the company side, founders and finance staff can use the cap table tool to pull ownership summaries and 409A records into board presentations, generate reports for export to Excel, and check for issues such as expiring valuations, limited option pools, or maturing SAFEs.

Carta said it has built task-specific rules, reference files, and scripts for reporting calculations into the plugins. Those measures are intended to reflect how fund and equity administration work is carried out, rather than simply providing a general connection to underlying data.

Early adopters

Several venture firms have already used the product in live workflows. Carta named Delta-v Capital, Tribe Capital Management, Vine Ventures, Kapor Capital, and Liquid2 Ventures as early adopters.

Delta-v Capital, which manages 28 funds and USD $1.6 billion in assets under management, used the software for compliance work. Its Chief Operating Officer described a marked reduction in manual effort.

"One prompt pulls every data point," said Kyle Rogers, Chief Operating Officer of Delta-v Capital.

"I can say definitively it's going to save us multiple days next year," Rogers said.

Tribe Capital Management, which manages nearly 100 fund structures and more than USD $2 billion in assets under management, has used the software to speed up reconciliation across multiple funds and special purpose vehicles.

"When the Carta Plugin for Claude worked, my initial reaction was: Wow, I can't believe this is finally here. It's like everything you've ever wanted in terms of cutting down on manual workflows and turnaround times," said Stuart Johnson, Fund Controller of Tribe Capital Management, Inc.

"We've been able to cut down that manual, complicated web of reconciliation across four funds and 100 SPVs-from a week of doing it manually to a day," Johnson said.

Wider context

The announcement highlights a growing push by software providers to tie generative AI tools directly to proprietary financial datasets and existing permission structures, particularly in markets where accuracy, auditability, and access controls are central to adoption.

Carta, which provides equity management and fund administration software, says its platform is used by 55,000 companies, 1.8 million equity holders, and 10,000 funds and SPVs representing USD $250 billion in assets under management. Its argument is that AI becomes more useful in finance when it sits inside a system of record rather than operating as a standalone assistant.

For private capital firms, that debate is likely to centre on which work can be delegated to software and where staff still need to review calculations, judgments, and outputs before they are used in reporting, fundraising, or board materials. Carta's model keeps final data access rules tied to the customer's existing account controls and distinguishes AI estimates from booked figures.

The plugins are available through Claude's plugin directory to firms with active Carta accounts.
