Celonis launches Platform Apps Program to drive industrial solutions

Wed, 31st Jul 2024

Celonis has announced the launch of its Celonis Platform Apps Program, allowing companies to benefit from domain-specific applications developed by ecosystem partners on its Process Intelligence Platform. This initiative aims to combine the technical capabilities of Celonis with the sector-specific expertise of its partners to create targeted solutions for various industries.

The program begins with four apps that have been co-created by Celonis and its partners, namely ProcessLab, Marcadus, Ashling Partners, and KMLZ. The initial applications cater to banking, oil and gas, chemical, manufacturing, and cross-industry use cases.

Carsten Thoma, President at Celonis, highlighted the potential of this new initiative. "The Celonis Platform Apps Program demonstrates the massive potential that results from combining the power of the Celonis Process Intelligence Platform with the domain expertise of our partner ecosystem. The Celonis Process Intelligence Graph is like a Wikipedia of process intelligence. It sits above a company's raw data and gives it meaning and context. It provides an extensible data model, embedded AI offerings, AI-enabling process insights and the ability to understand and fix the delta between the 'as is' and 'to be' states of the business."

Among the four apps launched is the Celonis Cross Border Payments, powered by ProcessLab. This app is designed to aid banks in managing the complexities of cross-border and trade payments. The application offers end-to-end visibility, reduces transaction costs, minimizes regulatory risks, and improves customer experience. A major bank using the app reported annual cost savings of USD $2.4 million, an 18% increase in payment processing capacity, and a reduction in cycle time of over 30%.

Another application is the Celonis Plant Maintenance Navigator, aimed at the oil, gas, and chemical industries. Powered by Marcadus, this app links plant maintenance processes with other operational aspects such as order management and supply chain. It monitors processes continuously and triggers necessary interventions, thereby reducing production downtime, handling delays in material sourcing, and minimizing asset downtime.

The manufacturing sector is addressed with the Celonis Maintenance Control Centre, developed in collaboration with Ashling Partners. This app provides event and value-based monitoring of plant-floor machine operations. It aims to prevent disruptions by offering timely updates and alerts about potential high-risk scenarios. Implementation of this app enabled a US-based manufacturer to identify USD $5 million in savings, improve manufacturing performance by 10%, and increase machine availability by 8%.

Lastly, the Celonis Tax-Ray app is designed to solve tax compliance issues across various industries. Developed with KMLZ, the app offers automated controls for managing tax compliance systems, facilitates monitoring of tax transactions in ERP systems, and identifies potential risks and errors proactively. A global ride-sharing company using the app managed to improve its VAT compliance and reporting, ensuring full compliance and significantly reducing the risk of penalisation.

The Celonis Platform Apps Program seeks to leverage the company's Process Intelligence Graph to confer unique business context and empower companies towards faster and scalable transformation.
