CloudTech Group has launched RooRooEx, a digital asset trading platform built on Integral technology. The launch comes as Australia tightens oversight of digital asset services ahead of an Australian Securities & Investments Commission licensing deadline.

According to the companies, the platform is aimed at professional investors, high-net-worth individuals and retail users. It offers AUD and USD trading pairs across major cryptocurrencies, as well as USDT trading.

RooRooEx connects to multiple liquidity providers through Integral's trading technology, giving users aggregated pricing and routing orders across liquidity sources in real time.

That matters in a market that trades continuously and where pricing and liquidity can differ sharply between venues. Australian regulators are pushing digital asset businesses into the financial services licensing framework as investor expectations move closer to the standards of more established markets.

ASIC has given firms operating under transitional arrangements until 30 September to apply for the relevant financial services licences. The deadline marks another step in the regulator's effort to bring more of the digital asset market under formal supervision.

Market shift

The launch places CloudTech in a sector trying to reconcile round-the-clock trading with stricter governance and clearer investor protections. As regulation develops, companies are increasingly presenting execution quality, custody, transparency and operational controls as key differentiators.

RooRooEx includes market orders, limit orders and time-weighted average price strategies. It also integrates with CloudTech's custody offering, allowing users to apply for a dedicated custody account or move assets to external wallets.

Integral, which supplies currency and digital asset trading technology to financial institutions, provides the underlying technology for the platform. Its client base spans banks, brokers, investors and cross-border payments companies, giving it an established position in electronic trading infrastructure.

For CloudTech, the launch is part of a broader push into digital asset infrastructure. Its business is built around services spanning swapping, spending, storing and saving digital assets.

RooRooEx will be offered globally, with an initial focus on Australia, Singapore and Malaysia. That regional emphasis reflects the growing importance of Asia-Pacific markets in digital asset trading, particularly as regulatory approaches begin to diverge between jurisdictions.

Investor access

A core pitch for the platform is broader access to trading conditions traditionally associated with larger institutions and over-the-counter desks. In practice, that means narrowing the gap between the tools available to professional market participants and those available to wealthy individuals and smaller investors.

Edward Zhang, General Manager of Treasury, Custody and Capital Markets at CloudTech Group, said the launch is part of the company's broader strategy in the sector.

"For too long, many of the benefits traditionally available to professional investors have been difficult for individual investors, including high-net-worth individuals and sophisticated traders, to access in the OTC market. By combining our trading and custody capabilities with Integral's digital asset trading workflows and infrastructure, RooRooEx aims to bridge this gap, serving both institutional clients and high-net-worth individual investors with access to deeper liquidity, institutional-grade pricing and sophisticated trading capabilities through a seamless and intuitive platform," Zhang said.

Zhang also highlighted the platform's controls and oversight.

"Trust, security and robust governance are at the heart of everything we do. With comprehensive, role-based access and built-in controls across the front, middle and back offices, RooRooEx empowers clients to manage trading activities, monitor risk exposures, and oversee settlements and reconciliations within a structured control framework. This integrated approach delivers greater transparency, accountability and operational oversight, giving institutional and high-net-worth investors greater confidence in the security of their assets," Zhang said.

Technology role

Integral's involvement also underlines how much of the market is being shaped by specialist infrastructure providers rather than consumer-facing exchanges alone. As digital asset firms face tougher scrutiny, the technology stack behind pricing, order routing and post-trade processes is becoming more visible to investors and regulators.

Harpal Sandhu, Chief Executive Officer of Integral, linked the launch to the market's wider development.

"As digital asset markets mature, firms must offer investors the same calibre of sophisticated technology available in traditional financial markets. Integral enables CloudTech to deliver exactly that-institutional-grade pricing, execution and liquidity through the RooRooEx platform, helping it better serve clients in fast-moving, 24/7 markets," Sandhu said.
