Cohesity has officially gained VMware Partner Ready for VMware Cloud on AWS validation.

Cohesity’s DataProtect and DataPlatform offerings are now tested and have verified interoperability with VMware, and they can also fully manage customer support requests through VMware Cloud on AWS.

Cohesity explains that customers can easily back up and recover virtual machines (VMs) that run on VMware Cloud on AWS.  Customers complete an initial backup, and then archive backups to Amazon S3 and Amazon Glacier. From the cloud, organisations can also easily recover data, whether it be a single file or VM or their entire VM environment.

Additionally, Cohesity’s DataProtect software is able to deliver end-to-end backup, recovery and storage for different types of workloads, databases, and applications.

Cohesity’s DataPlatform can also help organisations to deal with mass data fragmentation, in which data is so proliferated across different locations, silos, clouds, and management systems that organisations are unable to fully utilise its value. Organisations can consolidate data and infrastructure siloes into one administrative dashboard.

“We are pleased that Cohesity DataProtect and Cohesity DataPlatform are validated for VMware Cloud on AWS. This signifies to customers that these solutions can be deployed with the knowledge and reassurance that the partner fully supports the specified versions and configurations on VMware Cloud on AWS,” says VMware director of the Technology Alliance Partner Program, Kristen Edwards.

Customers that use Cohesity within their VMware Cloud on AWS environment could find that they are no longer limited to reduced functionality provided through backup proxies or gateways. Customers receive the same comprehensive web-scale platform in the cloud as they do on-premises to achieve faster backup and recovery performance.

“Enterprises are looking to take advantage of the agility of VMware Cloud on AWS while also simplifying backup and making their data more productive,” says Cohesity’s senior vice president of engineering, Vineet Abraham.

“As more data is being generated in the cloud and other locations, customers no longer need to compromise on backup and recovery SLAs and instead can focus on consolidating their data silos onto a single easy-to-manage platform that was designed to support businesses’ evolving infrastructure needs.”

The Partner Ready for VMware Cloud on AWS program allows partners to validate their application/infrastructure component on VMware Cloud on AWS.

Partners are able extend their on-premises solution capabilities to the cloud and ensure consistent user experience and functionality on VMware Cloud on AWS. VMware says this increases customers’ confidence in vendor solutions.
