Datadog named a Leader in 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for DEM
Datadog has been recognised as a Leader in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Digital Experience Monitoring for the second consecutive year.
Gartner recognition
The assessment is based on Datadog's completeness of vision and ability to execute in the field of digital experience monitoring (DEM). The annual Magic Quadrant evaluates technology providers in segments where growth and differentiation are pronounced, with 'Leaders' identified as those executing well on their current vision while being well positioned for the future.
Datadog's suite of DEM tools covers Synthetic Monitoring and Testing, Real User Monitoring (RUM), Product Analytics, Session Replay, and Error Tracking, offering organisations a unified view into frontend performance and user experience for web and mobile applications. According to the company, its suite aims to provide brands with deeper visibility into user activity and more effective tools for resolving frontend issues.
Reflecting on the company's recent advancements, Yanbing Li, Chief Product Officer at Datadog, stated,
Datadog's suite of DEM products empowers customers to deliver seamless and high-quality digital experiences. We have continued to evolve this space with our recent acquisition of Eppo, an experimentation and feature-management platform. By integrating Eppo's capabilities into our unified platform, we can help customers continue to improve end user experiences quickly and with confidence. We believe this Gartner placement of Datadog in the 2025 Magic Quadrant reflects our commitment to helping customers improve their brand reputation, increase end user retention and ultimately achieve their digital transformation goals.
Customer feedback
Several businesses that employ Datadog highlighted the value of these capabilities for monitoring and troubleshooting. Mahmoud Abdel Gawad, Co-CEO at Ibnsina Pharma, said,
It has been a long time since we've seen truly insightful data from customers. Datadog gave us that lens again.
Zbigniew Kamiński, Head of SRE at Booksy, commented on Datadog's impact: "Datadog allows us to measure the business impact of changes and have a single point of truth across all teams."
Expanded feature set
Datadog recently extended its DEM offering with RUM Without Limits, a feature designed to provide organisations greater flexibility and value. This tool combines complete traffic insights with customisable filtering options for real user monitoring, addressing customer demand for more granular trend analysis and cost management.
This expanded approach is intended to support organisations in detecting operational issues early, managing user experience data efficiently, and making data-driven decisions affecting digital services and brand perception.
Magic Quadrant explained
The Gartner Magic Quadrant is a market research report series that provides graphical competitive positioning of four technology provider types: Leaders, Visionaries, Niche Players, and Challengers. Leaders are defined as providers that execute well against their current vision and are well poised for future development. Visionaries understand market direction or seek to change market rules, but may not yet execute as strongly. Niche Players either focus exclusively on a small segment or struggle to outperform broader competitors. Challengers execute strongly in the present or dominate large segments but may lack vision for where the market is heading.
Datadog's placement as a Leader ranks it highest on the Ability to Execute axis, according to Gartner's criteria.
Industry adoption
Organisations across various sectors, from healthcare to technology and eCommerce, are using consolidated observability and security platforms such as Datadog to support cloud migration initiatives, streamline operations, and enable secure, data-driven decision making. The emphasis on unified monitoring solutions and actionable analytics reflects broader industry trends toward improving the digital end user experience and operational efficiency.
