Dell unveils AI-powered XPS lineup with revamped design at CES
Fri, 5th Jan 2024

Dell Technologies has revealed its newly revamped XPS lineup at CES, which is characterised by cutting-edge design and built-in artificial intelligence (AI). Groundbreaking design changes combined with state-of-the-art machinery create these robust and sturdy laptops.

"We have a long history of taking risks, being inquisitive and asking big design questions with XPS," stated a Dell spokesperson. They further described the XPS 13 Plus as an "elegant and modern device designed with simplicity at the core."

The innovative design has become the blueprint for the XPS brand, leading to the creation of the XPS 16 and XPS 14 and the transformation of XPS 13 Plus to XPS 13. All three laptops sport elements that minimise distractions and enhance productivity.

Fabricated with machined aluminium and Gorilla Glass 3, the XPS laptops exude a minimalistic elegance. Besides the striking aesthetics, the laptops also feature a touch function row for easy switching between media and function keys, a seamless glass touchpad with haptic feedback, and larger keycaps, providing a smooth typing experience.

The XPS lineup also impresses with performance. The InfinityEdge panels feature OLED touch options, variable refresh rates, high-resolution options, and Dolby Vision for maximum detail. A quad-speaker design, Dolby Atmos immersive audio support, and 3D stereo surround from MaxxAudio Pro by Waves enhance the audio experience. The laptops also sport a new intelligent FHD 1080p webcam for crisp video calls.

A significant feature of the XPS portfolio is its AI-enabled functionality, powered by Intel Core Ultra processors. The laptops come with Windows 11 experiences, bolstering creativity and productivity and boosting performance and battery life. All XPS models also feature ExpressCharge, which allows 80% battery recharge within an hour.

Clusters of the new XPS family include the XPS 16, which is geared up for complex workloads with its powerful Intel Core Ultra processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPUs, rendering it Dell's most powerful XPS laptop to date. The XPS 14, being 21% lighter, is an optimal choice for users looking for performance, design, and portability. Both are NVIDIA Studio-validated systems, offering industry-leading performance for demand-heavy creative tasks.

The XPS 13, believed to have started the design revolution, offers a versatile visual experience and is the perfect multitasking device for balancing work, school, personal projects, and entertainment.

Finally, bundled with a neural processing unit (NPU), AI acceleration on the devices significantly enhances performance and battery life. The laptops also come with the AI-driven feature Copilot in Windows 11 and an optimised Copilot key for ease of use.

In line with its commitment to sustainability, Dell incorporates more sustainable materials in its products and packaging, furthering its goal of reducing its carbon footprint. The laptops also comply with EPEAT's new and stringent climate criteria to achieve the EPEAT Climate+ Designation, signifying the industry's best practices for decarbonisation.
