FYI, this story is more than a year old

Data and analytics expert Dr John Harrison has been appointed to the newly created role of Head of Open Banking for Australia and New Zealand.

Harrison joins Envestnet Yodlee from global open banking platform TrueLayer, where he was a product manager overseeing their data products in Australia. In addition, he previously served as a data scientist and open banking product owner at Westpac.

In his new role at Envestnet Yodlee, Harrison will lead the organisation's open banking strategy across Australia and New Zealand. Harrison will lead the Australian product capability whilst supporting commercial, product and engineering teams and working with clients to help them provide new and better experiences with the Consumer Data Right.

Timothy Poskitt, ANZ Country Manager at Envestnet Yodlee, is excited to have Harrison join the team as it expands its footprint and expertise across the region.

"This is a fantastic appointment both for John and our business, and the new role reinforces our commitment to open banking within both the Australian and New Zealand markets. Open banking provides Australians and Kiwis with access to a more vibrant, competitive financial ecosystem.

"John's technical experience will be invaluable, and I look forward to seeing him work closely with both existing and new customers in driving innovative open banking solutions, all built on secure, open data," says Poskitt.

Harrison holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Newcastle, and has since provided industry-based guidance to the direction of the University's Mathematics and Data Science programmes.
