Genetec launches AutoVu Cloudrunner in Australia & NZ
Genetec has announced the launch of AutoVu Cloudrunner, a cloud-based vehicle-centric investigation system, in Australia and New Zealand.
AutoVu Cloudrunner is aimed at improving public safety investigations by providing a cloud-managed platform that enables the detection, analysis, and secure storage of vehicle identification data. This system seeks to support police forces, community associations, and campus security teams in identifying vehicles of interest involved in criminal activities.
The system combines advanced vehicle data analytics with a solar-powered automated license plate recognition (ALPR) camera to enhance public safety efforts and streamline investigative processes.
It has previously been deployed in over 75 cities across North America over the past 18 months, aiding significantly in solving crimes both large and small.
Lieutenant Jamey Moss of the Communications Center at Columbia County Sheriff's Office in Georgia, USA, stated, "AutoVu Cloudrunner absolutely changes the game for criminal investigations, helping speed up emergency response and close cases faster."
Genetec's solution offers real-time hotlist alerts and live monitoring capabilities aimed at expediting investigations and allowing for more effective incident responses.
George Moawad, Country Manager for Oceania at Genetec, mentioned, "Cloudrunner will benefit local government agencies, law enforcement, and businesses that require an innovative and flexible ALPR solution. With Cloudrunner, organisations will benefit from enhanced situational awareness and a more unified response to security challenges."
"No matter where a crime occurs, it can be addressed in real-time, collectively and efficiently."
The vehicle data is collected with the use of the Cloudrunner CR-H2, a high-performance, solar-powered ALPR camera. This camera goes beyond simple license plate recognition to include identification of vehicle type, make, model, and colour, as well as behaviour analytics. This capability allows investigators to narrow searches even when full license plate details are not available.
Larry Legere, Commercial Director at Genetec, highlighted the user-friendly nature of the system: "Cloudrunner is easy to install and deploy at scale, providing a cost-effective cloud-based solution that mitigates the high cost associated with installing fixed cameras. The intuitive interface requires minimal training, so users can be up and running quickly. Cloudrunner notifies you in real-time about critical events, ensuring rapid response and better decision-making."
The system is reported to be compatible with other cameras in the Genetec range, such as the AutoVu SharpV ALPR cameras, thereby providing management flexibility across various camera types in a single platform.
Another key feature of AutoVu Cloudrunner is its facilitation of responsible collaboration among local stakeholders. It is designed to ensure that sensitive data is protected and can be shared securely, if needed, with relevant parties for swift investigation resolution.
This capability is integrated with the Genetec Clearance digital evidence management system, allowing law enforcement agencies or legal professionals to access necessary evidence without compromising data integrity.
Referring to data security, Moawad added, "Camera reads can be managed and securely shared between multiple parties while maintaining the chain of custody."
"Sensitive data is always protected. All gathered data by users is processed and stored locally in Australia, with customers retaining full ownership and control of their data."
AutoVu Cloudrunner is available through Genetec accredited channel partners in Australia and New Zealand.
The pricing is structured as an annual subscription costing AUD $4,000 a year, which includes both hardware and software components. The cloud-managed nature of the system permits customers to adjust their system size according to their requirements and ensures access to automatic updates and new features.
