Huawei leads 2024 global wearables market with 44.3% rise

Today

Huawei has secured the top position in IDC's Global Wearables Market report for global shipments in the first three quarters of 2024.

The latest IDC Global Wearable Device Market Quarterly Tracking Report indicates that despite a general decline in global wrist-worn device shipments in 2024, Huawei achieved a 44.3% year-on-year increase in global shipments. The company's market share stood at 16.9%, while it dominated the domestic market with a 35.7% share.

Huawei's series of product launches in 2024 includes the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 3, HUAWEI WATCH GT 5, and HUAWEI WATCH D2. These products feature advanced functionalities such as the WATCH D2's medical-grade 24-hour dynamic blood pressure monitoring and the WATCH FIT 3's capabilities of calorie tracking and nutritional analysis. The HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 integrates HUAWEI TruSense System with advanced sports functionalities and has been well-received worldwide, receiving commendations from media outlets such as WAREABLE and ANDROID AUTHORITY.

The company attributes its success partly to its localisation strategy, which has bolstered its presence in markets across Europe, Latin America, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East and Africa. Huawei's marketing endeavours include appointing Sir Mo Farah and Pamela Reif as ambassadors for HUAWEI Wearable Products, and hosting product launch events in major cities like Dubai, Barcelona, and Brazil.

Through initiatives such as "Light Up Your Rings" and "Tech with Love", Huawei aims to meld innovative technology with human-centred health solutions. These initiatives align with Huawei's overarching philosophy of technology that not only innovates but also resonates emotionally with users.
