ICT Service revenues increased on a sequential basis to US$59.8 billion in the third quarter of 2009, after declining for the previous six quarters in a row. Ovum Vice President John Lively says the trend shows clear improvement and suggests the worst of the recession is over. “Revenues were still down almost 5% year-over-year, but that is a lot less than in the first and second quarters.” Software and IT Services revenues were $28.3 billion, up 3.6% sequentially, down 4.9% versus the third quarter of 2008. Fujitsu, H-P, and IBM led the segment in market share. Business Process Consulting were $18.6 billion, up 2.4% sequentially, and down 6.6% versus third quarter of 2008. IBM, Accenture, and CSC led this segment in market share.
